RULES

(0. This game, my first since my long absence, is invitation only, to increase the chances of it being a success. If it is a success, the next one will be more open.)

1. This game is moderated by me (Koesen), I am the law. Whatever I say goes. If I make a mistake I’ll do my best to fix it. All roles will be given out randomly.

2. Do not quote any PMs you receive from the Mod. The only things you may post (loosely paraphrasing) are your roles (and anything associated with them) and alignment, during the active game. Once the game has concluded, feel free to post the rest of your personal information.

3. All ‘votes’ and ‘unvotes’ must be in blue. If they are not, they will not be tallied. (I.E. Vote Fircoal)
** If you vote two or more times consecutively without an unvote in between them, then the first vote will be the one that gets tallied. **

4. Lynching requires a majority of the town vote, and once the majority has been reached any and all unvotes will not be counted. If there is no majority by nightfall, there is no lynch.

5. Once your death scene has been posted, you are dead. You can no longer post anything revealing or of substance. You may post an "oh shit" post but anything of substance is strictly forbidden.

6. You may vote ‘no lynch’ to end the day without a death.

7. The game will not be discussed outside this thread, unless your role specifically says you may do so.

8. Do not edit/delete previous posts. Whatever you say goes into historical record.

9. Joking in the thread is fine, but don’t let it get carried away and take over as spam. Do not talk at night.

10. Be attentive and active in the game. If I see you are not posting at all, I will prod all those who are inactive. If there is no timely response, you will be replaced. The point of this being an invitation only game is that this should not be necessary. If real life obligations prevent you from playing, please let me know and we'll see what we can work out.

11. I am a firm believer in deadlines. This game begins with game days of approximately two weeks, with deadlines on Friday morning my time (Toronto, GMT -5). These deadlines will be enforced as long as there is (A) no global catastrophe, (B) no significant forum downage and (C) nothing in my life that prevents me from coming here and announcing night. Please note that lack of activity or agreement will never be accepted as an argument for an extension.

12. Nights will be shorter, typically two or three days. If you do not send in your night action before the deadline, you lose it.

13. Depending on who does what when, there may be one or more special events that follow their own rules, which will be announced at the time.

14. Again, depending on who does what and when, this game may continue longer than your average mafia game. As long as the game mechanisms theoretically allow more than one outcome, the game continues.

15. I do not believe in revealing more than strictly necessary, but I will say that there are no jesters, lynchers or lynchees in this game.

16. There are no vanilla townies in this game, but if there were, their role PM would look like this:
You are a vanilla townie (town). You have no powers. You win when all threats against town have been eradicated.

17. If you have any questions about whether you should or shouldn’t do something, or just need some clarification, feel free to PM me.

18. The day and night scenes may contain useful information. The pictures accompanying your role PM are just for fun.

Well I'm sure if you're willing to throw a couple bucks the yellow chu's way, he'd probably be willing to remove some clothing and send you a picture. On the other hand though, you'd probably need those few bucks and several thousand others to pay for the intensive psychiatric counseling that would no doubt follow a viewing of such a photo.....lol

A sunrise.

Light falls on on a suburb that looks like it's somewhere in the US, though it might also be Canada, where sets are cheaper. Life is good here, one can instantly tell. The houses are well maintained, the townfolk mow their lawns every Saturday, birds are chirping cheerfully and in the pristine parks, unbroken families frequently gather for a picnic.

Heavenly bliss. But under the unblemished surface, something unspeakably tainted begins to stir...

It is now Day 1. Deadline Friday January 29th, 10:00 AM EST (3 PM GMT).

With 16 people alive, it takes 9 to lynch.
