What's up with bizarre opposition to writing "Christianity?" You don't say, in your discussion of other religions, )am or *ish, so do you just object to writing the word "Christ?"
My g/f is a theologian, it's a habit i picked up. X stands for christ. As in Xmas. Like kclborat said, the internet is rife with acronyms. Writing xian is not a measure of my misguided heathen hatred of all things religious, I am just typing fast. Gimp.

Because Christian is the only one that already had a shortened name for it, would be my guess. he didn't come up with a brand new fucking thing by saying X=Christ.... But neither I nor you have ever seen one for another religion.

For the record, I don't "disbelieve" in Mr. Christ. I think he was most likely a real and influential person back in the day.

In lecture notes I'll write Xian, usually, Muslim and Jew are longer, but if I were to write Judaism I might well just write Jism. As long as everyone knows what it means (and in this case they do) thats fine! Nothing disparaging about the religion at all! If Aethism had a longer name, I dunno, possibly Atheisiticism we'd probably write Aism sometimes. Its not a personal attack!

Whoa, chief. I'm not sure it's "our Lord." I'm not sure what I believe. I just get irritated with evangelical atheists.
After checking out backglass' comments in the Lent forum, it's not even worth any more effort over here. I guess we'll all find out who's right and who's wrong 1 second after we all draw our last breath.

That seems like a pretty lame excuse. Although, you seem to be opposed to proper capitalization, as well, so maybe you're just lazy.
I don't bother to capitalize when I feel the post has less worth or less intellectual parity. For example, check earlier posts in this thread. I capitalize fine. However, when people put up dumb posts about how writing "xians" is some deep psychological sign indicative about our fear and hatred of Christianity and Christ, then it is not worth my time to bother to capitalize fully. And btw, )ism for Muslim makes no sense, whereas xianity makes perfect sense. Hold back on your psychological examinations until you get your degree.
