How is it determined which player loses more points when playing a game?

I've had time and time again games where I would lose 23 points, and sometimes I'd lose 18 points... Not sure how it is determined. Is it the last player eliminated loses more points?

Ex: Game 25919

2006-05-26 18:31:43 - fubarcivic loses 23 points
2006-05-26 18:31:43 - knight loses 18 points
2006-05-26 18:31:43 - mikey6rocker loses 20 points
2006-05-26 18:31:43 - burnshog gains 61 points

mikey6rocker was eliminated first, followed by knight then myself (fubarcivic). Thus I don't quite understand why Knight loses less points than mikey6rocker, yet I lose more points then all of them.

This is the formula

(loser's score / winner's score ) * 20

With a minus in front when you loose

It's because you are ranked higher than everyone else who lost, thus losing more points

From the how to play section

Conquer Club players are initially given a score of 1000. At the end of each game, the winner takes points away from each loser. The points to be awarded is calculated as (loser's score / winner's score ) * 20.

Are you serious? You joined the site 4 months ago and have played over 100 games and you are asking this now? How can you have gone this long and not looked at the How to Play section?
