I find it offensive to be asked for donations for a ridiculously indulgant gift for your daughter. Jesus Christ wont give a crap if I donate or not either so dont go down that road.

Get a damn visa and man up "dad". Sell a tool; get another job since your overtime is cut back. Borrow it from a loan shark. Hawk your wedding ring. Just dont beg to faceless strangers like a pussy; disgusting.

My children are happy to have a warm house and loving family and what gifts we can fucking AFFORD this year, as one parent has been unemployed for almost a year (axed unexpectedly from a 20 year career) and the other (self-employed) managed to partially cripple himself (that would be me). Should I set up a paypal account? Would you donate to me Jesus-boy to assist with my hardships?? I think not. You appear to be the extreme christian hyopcrite to me (I also find it sad that your family ranks well down the list of important things in your life). And why did you stop signing your posts "Loved by Christ" or whatever the freak it was? Too much effort?

Good luck with your project. Assuming you pull through, being the amazing dad you are, I suggest getting an insurance rider on your fancy new acquisition that's worth more than my truck; I am sure your standard insurance policy just aint a gonna cover that extravagance and gods forbid if you have to raise the money AGAIN.

This request should be copied into one of the "American-bashing" threads; I am ashamed by even being associated. Amazing.

EDIT: MODS - Is this type of crap tolerated? If so, I think you are setting a precedent; pretty soon you will be making a sep forum for fundraisers, thieves and con artists. I suggest LOCKING.

on the news the other week an Australian women got conned out of $75,000 from a Nigerian con artist through her email account...

I didn't think anyone actually fell for those

As for your reply Koolbak.. it pretty much summed up my sentiments in such an eloquent tone, that I don't even feel the need to add anymore

Thank you; your support of what I believe to be common sense heartens me.

I've been trying to stay quiet here but since two members I like came in so harshly I feel the need to ask a couple of questions, "Why so mean?"

The other questions I'll send PM because I see no reason to bash Jester, he's just scared and confused by life like most of us. Being a dick isn't going to help him out of this mess. It could drive him much deeper.

Oh come on
Its crass and apart from anything else it sets a terrible example to his daughter, it really is indefensible and he deserves whatever flak comes his way. Have you considered that the criticism may be constructive, that he might realise how misguided he has been, perhaps he has spent too long studying the intricacies of scripture and forgotten about basic morality !

I admit I think this is wrong and potentiallly harmfull to him and his daughter, that's why I came in. I just don't think I need to be a dick in public toward him.

jesterhawk, since it appears that all you need is some extra time to make enough to get the clarinet off lay away, a sensible man would include a photograph of the clarinet in a box to unwrap, with an IOU attached.

I've received gifts like this before when the item was on backorder. You could even tell your daughter the clarinet just wasn't ready in time, through no fault of your own. And that doesn't break your promise, NOR IS IT EVEN A LIE.

Stop begging and BE A MAN. Stop trying to con people on here. And refund Johnny Rockets his money, if you have any decency whatsoever.

Then, if your daughter is upset, take her and the family out to volunteer at a soup kitchen over the holidays. It'll help get her mind off having to wait longer for the gift, and maybe help all of you recognize what giving is really about.

Lol wow guys. If you don't want to donate you can tell him why without being a dick. And this may end up being the best money he ever spent. Who are you to tell him how to spend his earnings?

Oh wait, I know. Liberals!

They are not "his earnings" if he hustles them from us. We do have a right to tell him what do to with our money, or to tell him why his request is a dickhead request, if that is what we think.

Do me a favour John.

From what i can make out this guy is already 50 dollars in credit, let alone requiring more freebie hand outs

jesterhawk wrote:Hello,

new Clarinet costs almost $3,200 and we have been able to pay for almost $2,300 bringing the remaining down to $900.

My church took up a special offering for her and she received almost $750 towards it

jesterhawk wrote:
demonfork wrote:so are you saying that You only need another $150 minus the 20 bux that JR just sent you?
All total, we are down to $700 still needed (that includes Johnny's $20 and another $180 from others who have given).
Pedro wrote:(a total of $200 as far as my maths allows)

So the church collected $750, He's already paid down $2300, JR gave him $20, others gave him $180. That's $3250

This bible bashing half wit needs a lesson in maths. If we give him a hard time, then so what?
It's a pity he couldn't add up as well as he can organise a paypal donation account. pfft!

My old Stradivarius trombone cost somewhere in the two thousands. Kind of ridiculous how much they charge for those things (especially cuz I ended up preferring my crappy jazz/marching horn from 5th grade).

I thought Stradivarius only made string instruments, like violins. Anyway, a guy in my college dorm had a Gibson Les Paul guitar that cost $5,000, and that was in the '70's.
The right answer to the wrong question is still the wrong answer to the real question.

It's a Bach Stradivarius.

Thank you PD for the Kudos  It has been almost 3 years since I bitched in a public forum over something that hit home, but....well. Your sentiments were spot on too my friend.

And who doesn't enjoy hearing Pedro's thots? lol

Now THIS:

john9blue wrote:Lol wow guys. If you don't want to donate you can tell him why without being a dick. And this may end up being the best money he ever spent. Who are you to tell him how to spend his earnings?

Oh wait, I know. Liberals!

...Is wrong on so many levels it makes me sick. If we don't want to donate? WTF? This isn't about making an ethical decision to donate to a worthy cause. This is about some brainwashed pussy that can't man up and takes every easy out he can think of. I have managed to make my mortgage payment and raise healthy happy children on a quarter of normal income (which was barely enough to survive on in the first place) for the last year. You NEED....you DO. Period. This is disgusting. And I have noted that Jesus-boy hasn't posted recently. Hmmmmm.

Finally, that was the VERY FIRST time I have been accused of being a liberal. lmao - you don't know me so well do you?

Thanks everyone for responding. I greatly appreciate your comments, albeit that they were a bit more colorful then I would have liked. But the posts did tell me clearly and even bluntly what you believe and that I do appreciate. I prefer people to be straight to the point and not beat around the bush. And for that, I am thankful.

I am also thankful for those who have given and pray that God blesses you immensely.

I think at this point the best thing would be, as suggested, that this thread be closed.

Again, thanks,
JH
