1st RE2000 World League [Winner: wrexham]

Hi there CC players! First of all this tournament will be organized by myself and recover1985, and will be a 32-player tournament, played in a random map (with exception of the final). All games will be 1 vs 1.

This league will be similar to the European Champions League in Football (or Soccer). All players will choose a town (any one from any part of the world, that can be found on google earth :P ) to represent (for example: Recover1985 will represent the city of Lisbon, Portugal) and will be drawn in one of the 8 groups.

Now, i would like to state that this tournament is open to every player in ConquerClub - Premium and Freemium - but the freemium players will have to leave ONE OPEN SLOT while playing on this tournament.

The tournament will be composed of 2 distinct phases: a group phase (composed by eight 4-player groups) and an eliminating phase, composed by the first two of every group.
In the group phase, there will be 6 games for each player. Players will play 3 "home" games and 3 "away" games.
In the eliminating phase, there will be only one "leg", and no "home" nor "away" advantage.

Home advantage: In the group phase, the user who is playing at "home" will play the game with the game's rules chosen by himself (initial troops, play order, spoils, etc).

still in the group phase:
Victory in a game - 1 point
Loss in a game - 0 points

The groups will be randomly generated by the website http://www.random.org

If any players end the group phase with the same points, one playoff game will be made to decide which one will go trough to the next phase. The map will be random and the rules will be: Standard, Automatic, sequential, Escalating, unlimited, foggy.

The eliminating phase (Eliminating round, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, Final) will be played in a random map (except for the final, witch will be played in World 2.1 map) with the following rules: Standard, Automatic, sequential, Escalating, unlimited, foggy.

If you want to join, please say the town (and the respective country) you want to play for and state the rules for your home matches (Initial Troops, Play Order, Spoils, Reinforcements, Fog of War) and you will be added.

For example:

Hi there! I'm macro, i want to play for Abitureiras, Portugal and my rules are: Auto, seq, esc, chained, NO fog of war

Why not give it a try. Though, I'd suggest you to make the playoff games best out of 3 or even better best out of 5 series. And change unlimited to chained if you wish it to be more about skill and less about luck :)

I'll represent Tartu, Estonia with following settings: Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Chained, Sunny.
"Thou shalt accept thy dice rolls as the will of the Gods" (Church of Gaming)
"amazzony is a beast" (Woodruff)

Perhaps in another tournament ;) myself and Recover1985 would like to try several different kinds of tournament systems, and this is only the first one. Playoff games with the best out of 7 games series, like the NBA playoff are on our horizons. As for changing unlimited to chained, it was decided between myself and Recover1985 that those would be the most balanced game rules for the Eliminating round.

For the home games will it be played on the map of my choice (Wales), or a random map with my chosen settings? :?

sorry mate, everyone plays with a random map in every game until the final. The final game will be played in world 2.1. But yes, your home games will be played with your settings in a random map.

Could you please explain how unlimited balances settings the best when it is established quite clearly that unlimited fortifications gives a huge advantage to whoever gets to go first?
