Re: ANCIENT ERA OF CHINA MAPS
Your best bet for a fun playable game is the Three Kingdoms' Era, 220-580 AD.

A close second would be Nationalist China under the Generals' Rule, 1928-1937

The usual protocol is to PM the other mapmaker and determine if they are still going to make their map

* Pearl Harbour * Waterloo * Forbidden City * Jamaica * Pot Mosbi

Re: ANCIENT ERA OF CHINA MAPS
well after i studied his artwork... his map has many inaccurate and strange parts....
1. some of the location are not actually historically bordered. (example : hanzhong and wuling had a distance gap of near 1000 km in reality)
2. those locations are all mixed with CITIES, STATE and even COUNTIES...(example: chendu, jianye are cities; bing and yong are countys; nanman is the accurate name of the light green area while jieting were just a open plain which have important strategic value its not a state nor city)
3. some of the locations were imputed wrongly like xu-chang isnt at south of xiapi. its west of it. etc etc
my 1st draft will be focus on gameplay design cause my friend is helping me with the artwork and will be begin helping me at the near of the month
hope i can make a better 1 for u guys. thx..

Territory names and bonus area names, Impassables, any other gameplay features. Title.
Also, use the [BigImg][/BigImg] tags when you post images, don't just post a link. You'll get a lot more comments. (people are lazy, they don't like clicking links!)

the thick line represents movements and will be removed after the hills had been added and the bottom right is the territory bonues

Re: ANCIENT ERA OF CHINA MAPS
I kinda dislike those lines showing connections. Makes the whole map look like it was torn and stitched back together... rather, remove those lines, and add impassable walls between territories that you don't want connected.

Re: ANCIENT ERA OF CHINA MAPS
Hi,
Good work so far. A couple of queries:
1. If this is the 3 kingdoms era.... where are the... ahem.... 3 kingdoms?
2. Mountains look good, but you removed the territories' boundaries so they have no purpose now.
3. Overall I get what you are trying to do, but I dont think this idea of replacing territory boundaries with names and connecting the text of names to each other works. I think you should put back in each teritory boundary, leave mountains as impassables, and also introduce the main rivers as impassables.
Good luck with continuing to develp this!

Re: ANCIENT ERA OF CHINA MAPS
Interesting... but you got to get rid of line to name connection and put in Individual territories. I think the whole point of a map game is that the game play is easily visualized.

Yeah, the one you have doesn't really have a feel of three kingdoms. What are the 3?

Re: ANCIENT ERA OF CHINA MAPS
This is really nice!
Like other folks I say: (a) where are the 3 kingdoms? (b) please return the territories' borders.
Also a suggestion: how about spreading some artifacts and adding some sort of an "Imperial" bonus for the holder of all/part of the artifacts?
Keep up the good work!
