Do you know about chimpanzees at all?
Dogs and cats have been domesticated through centuries upon centuries of being purposefully bred to be that way (and yet, even with all of that work, some still attack humans)
To give an example: lions and tigers and chimpanzees and bears (oh my!) have not been domesticated for a good reason. Or rather, lions and tigers have been domesticated as house cats, chimpanzees have never been domesticated and bears have been domesticated as Brutus!

(okay, forget the one about bears)
The point is, the way an animal was raised isn't an ironclad predictor of behavior later in life, and if the animal can easily destroy you or others, it shouldn't be a pet AT ALL. Chimpanzees as an animal, are not good as pets, because as they grow up, their natural instincts develop, whether they were raised around humans or not.
