... Tonight's Law & Order episode was subtle, a girl OD'd. The cop finds the pill bottle, it's Oxycotton, very clearly shown for a good 2 seconds, in large letters.

... Anybody who pays attention knows what/who that was aimed at.

... Then the CSI episode had a bit of an anti-gun rant thing going on. Laurence Fishburne's character hesitated rather long before accepting a gun to go in pursuit of the bad guy. He said, "The first recorded shot of an explosive projectile was in Japan, 4th century. It was a small hand cannon designed specifically to take life. 16 centuries later and look how far we've come" (shaking head in disgust).

... Well, Japan, in the 4th century, was a barbarous place with no such technology. Also, the first use of gunpowder to fire projectiles was in China, centuries later. But I digress.

... That bit on "How I Met Your Mother", dude got sick in Canada, got treatment. He says "They forgot to charge me".

... CSI Miami and the cast hanging out in the "Community Garden" during the final scene, completely unrelated to the episode.

... Give me a break. I hear enough of this shite through the day already.

About the only TV I watch are sports (the mountain), NCIS (and LA), and Dirty Jobs.

Got kind of tired of old favorites, mainly when I was younger get replaced by PC crap.

Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry for Ed, Edd & Eddy, Camp Lazlo (what the hell!?)
Scooby Doo slowly replaced by A Pup Named Scooby Doo (original was better quality, even in the art department)
Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog (kind of a Power Rangers meets King Arthur) ousted by newer and crappier versions of Power Rangers

What about the show "V" which has basically been pointed out by some as being nothing but negative allusions to the Obama administration.

Entertainment is always going to have claims on the issues of the day, because thats what people are often interested in or can be hooked with. If the allusions bother you significantly, its probably worth considering what it is about your views you feel uncomfortable with being criticized.

It is not a conspiracy in the back offices of the white house, but there is a HUGE issue with product placements and, yes, insertion of various political views.

I am more concerned with the product placement issue, becuase the other is more of a "story line" issue -- you see their point, then either agree or disagree. IN the product placement issue, you often don't even realize what is happening. These placements are actually far more effective than direct advertising, for the same reason.

Kids, especially are susceptable.

If you pay attention to Television, you may notice that it is a tool that has always been used for social , moral , religious, and opinion engineering.
Most TV shows , news programs, commentators, etc.. will have themes around current issues, and these themes usually reflect the current state of things, or the idea's of how the people in charge want the general public to feel and think.
TV brainwashes a large part of the population on a daily basis.
Media in the form of entertainment is nothing more then a way to manipulate the mass public, without actually going out there and directly telling people what the current thing to believe is.

So be careful of what you think you believe, because there is a good chance that you gained that belief through subliminal suggestions, that were placed into your favorite shows.

Dirty Jobs was great at first, but now its starting to get a bit repetetive. Same with "Bizarre foods".

Other than that, our TV is pretty much tuned to hunting and fishing shows on the Outdoor Channel, courtesy of my husband and one son.

Every now and then I get to tune in a Disney show, but that is about it....

Finally, NCIS is a good show. I don't watch NCIS LA, but the small woman had a great role on The Practice back in the 90s.
