We did a realtime this morning with 5 players of high pedigree and the feedback was very positive. I am adding it, personally, to my shortlist of maps I will play. Great job on the color layout and the aesthetically appealing writing. GREAT!

I also agree, it's just simply amazing to look at, I can't think of a better looking map at the moment, definitely gonna get a few plays from me. :)

Thanks for all of the praise. After all of the work we put into this it's higly gratifing that others are enjoying the map as much as we expected. Astethics aside, I'm interested in hearing feedback about the maps playability. I'm in a number of games and have purposely tried a number of different things to test out holding and conquering terrorties. IMO there's not a whole lot that I'd change, but I'm of course a bit biased. As you play the map more please leave some feedback in regards to:

Holding continents
Country dispursment
Bonsues
Attack routes

About the only thing I've seen so far is that it might be good to add some water routes to make moving around the map a little easier. The first draft had these routes which I removed, but it may be good to add them back in as others have suggested in this thread.

Anyway, thanks again for all of the positive feedback I'll look forward to squaring up with many of you on the Middle Earth battlefield.

Spelling mistake for the most westerly area: it's Forlindon, not Fordlindon. Google battle.

Spelling mistake.....

It's the land of "Agmar", and not Angmar. Also named for the "Witch King of Agmar".

The map is correct there: Angmar, see the Lotr prologue (about page 4/5) and Arda.

Spelling mistake for the area between Isengard and Emyn Muil: it's Emnet, not Ement. See map 4 in the book, Arda, and Google battle.

Hi all, I would like to second that it is Emnet, Angmar, and Forlindon. Also, it is Dagorlad, not Dagorland...

Here is a list of correct spellings:
Emnet
Angmar
Forlindon
Dagorlad

I asked Andy what I should do, and they said to find the thread and say what I want. Anyway...

Middle Earth was my first map to play, win, and lose on. (and I'm probably going to win the one I'm in right now) Because of this, Middle Earth will probably be my favorite map, or at least have something special about it.

Anyway... heres some things.

1: Is Mordor really worth only 3 armies? I mean... Mordor is like, the most important part in the Third Age. Well... its always been. But also, Near and Far Harad are open to attack from South Gondor, and Mt Doom is open to attack from Dargolad. (Some things are misspelled, it seems) I think its worth at least 4... Maybe Rohan is worth 5? 3 areas can be attacked. Lorien can be attacked from 2 areas. That means controlling Rohan can be difficult if you don't have Gondor or Erlador in your control. Its possible to not, just as its possible to hold Lindon when Erlador is still being fought about.

While this is probably just me... I was kinda shocked when I saw Mordor was only 3 armies. I'm not sure what determines the armies... by how many areas are open to attack from other continents? Either way, I think Mordor should have 4 armies. Maybe Rohan 5.

Yeah.. that was mainly my big issue. Also, can you make it more clearer that Emyn Muil and Ithilien can attack each other? The border is kinda... thin. I didn't know about that until I started playing. I don't think they should be closed off, because I think Gondor and its bonus are fine as they are.

yes. mordor has 3 borders but if you conquer South Gondor it is easy to defend in just 2 teritories
