This player may have a background at playing Risk, so he probably knows strategies, and just converted them into this game. Just because a player plays good when they start off, does not mean they are a multi

There's threads on this - he asked the mods that he couldn't be a multi with urbansloth. 'cos they work together, but are work partners and share the same e-mail and IP.

Though Urbansloth can interject on his games with [self] coming up.

Hey all,

Yep no doubt me and Pete are in cahoots - as I said in an earlier thread, we work together. We've played a bunch of board Risk, and I've gotta admit I've been giving him some tips, but mainly to do with map strategy, as he knows basic Risk tactics. I often look over his games, we look at moves together, etc. But some may argue my help would be a hinderance! But surely this is no different to mentor arrangements - kinda like "skillful" is doing for me at the moment..?

I did ask if this was ok, and the answer was predominantly yes. If mods want/need to reverse this then we'll be disappointed but accept the decision... :)

I prob should also mention - he's had to babysit my account across the weekend a couple of times cos I was out of town. But that's ok isn't it, I've seen others doing it?

Howdy folks - a bit of kerfuffle going on here about me, but going by the level of paranoia around (and slothy tells me it's justified) I dunno what we can do to convince you all.

But to be honest he did some pretty hard recruiting to get me here, but I wouldn't miss it all that much - the doubles with slothy has been fun but I was hoping games would be a bit more social, but they've been a bit quiet. I'm more of a slab of beer and Risk kind of guy.

I only really joined to play some doubles with Dave, thats a bit new I've only played singles on the board, so if that ain't allowed then grrrr but so be it...

That is like saying"no more account sitting because you could be a multi".

As for peterepeat, I know that joke ;)

Question is: is it legal to baby sit eachothers account even when you are in doubles. I know it is legal as you are in games together but is there an acception for doubles. What also is a good thing blocking there account from playing with eacother.

Ok, I realise you all have to do your homework (and it's appreciated, believe me, I've been on the receiving end of a multi) but this isn't that sinister...

I've openly admitted to helping Pete thru a bunch of games - with his first few games I was watching them all closely, looking in on all his games (yes, we are quite bored here), helping him with turns, teaching him my little tricks I use, like putting in the troop counts pre/post turn as an easy means to 'snapshot' the game. Pete insists on running chrome tho, so I had to feed him the info whenever we did it. I still look at his current games - more of a "you tell me what you'd do first" arrangement tho - thanks to "skillful" for his mentoring approach :)

Probably in hindsight, due to the help, we are guilty of being like a multi in that he's not playing on his own but with help...but hasn't everyone had help at some stage?? I reckon Pete would have beaten at least half of those ppl on his own anyway.

Pete says he's not as hooked as I am anyway, so he's not that fussed if it's not allowed but I reckon that sucks.

PS: That last thread was a couple years ago - not long after I got burnt by a multi (Ataturk Ender), hence my interest in it (and if you read it, I was asking due to a browser issue I had with the forums at the time anyway)

Wow - looks like a lot of effort going into something that may be a moot point - we finish this contract in 5 weeks, dunno about slothy, but I seriously don't like my chances of finding another job after this where they pay us to sit around and play games...

I have a VERY serious problem with this kind of reporting. You're reporting someone based on the fact that they won 7 of their first 8 games, never missed a turn (do you find it impossible to NOT miss a turn in 8 games??), and knows how to use the ratings system. (Because everyone knows it takes at LEAST 20 games to figure that out!) All of this equals "it's worth a check". BASED ON WHAT?! Based on "I suck at this game, this guy started out good, I'm a little boy who wants to be important and has way too much time on my hands, so humor me". Threads like these are a waste of everyone's time. I really wish that we could somehow institute bans for people in this forum who consistently post baseless, ridiculous, unsubstantiated, thoughtless posts accusing someone of doing something against the rules.

Cleared of being multis. There is nothing against the rules of related people not to account sit for one another, and that includes team games, unless they do abuse the account sitting, then that would be an issue. But if it is just occasional, we have nothing against that.

I will say this this it should be said since the 2 admitted to a relation to each other as in friends/co-workers. Both the account sitting guidelines should be followed a link is attached below.
