Fitz69 made the mistake of putting a poll up asking if it should be quenched or not up. I think this is his punishment and Andy will Quench it when he is ready. Peoples constant "quench It " comments may not be helping.

If posting a Quench poll is or is not in any way a forum violation, I humbly apologise.
My intention was i no way to influence or usurp Andy, but only to see to what extent people were satisfied with the progress I'd made so far.

as the maker of a map about which people keep saying "it looks finished - let's play it" I hope and trust that Andy is bigger than that. I'm sure he is a fair and honest fellow with nothing but the best intentions. I also hear he is quite popular with the ladies.

(Wait, does trying to butter Andy up also slow the forging/quenching progress? Damn.)

Maybe this will be another stealth quench, like the Arctic map... I actually appreciated the surprise. :)

My intention was i no way to influence or usurp Andy, but only to see to what extent people were satisfied with the progress I'd made so far.

Don't worry, I didn't even notice until you asked me to take it down. Of course, when the 'Quench It Crew' comes in, that bugs me...:)

Which is worse, the "quench it" crew or the "this map is really thirsty" crew?

I lump them all together, as they speak the same thing essentially. ;)

QUENCH IT... preferably prematurely, and with a few inaccurately names and bonuses out of whack if at all possible...

Seems there are still some coordinates out to me.

For the large map, just in Democrats alone I can see that Kyle, Tom, Harry and others appear to be based on one point, while Juan, Sam, Kenny and others appear to based on another.

Too: High, low, left or right?
The whole process i empirical so if you can pinpoint the errors would help.
I dont have any point to base things off, I just try to jog the coordinate values up or down one step at a time trying to get all numbers in the same position within their shadows.

Fitz69 you tell me that you use Jota xtml testing maps tool and put all numbers in centralised, and i think that can be mistake, and people can not suspect in Jota programs.

I went through and measured every circle.
I'm not saying they all look perfect (many had 1 pixel off either way no matter what so if you really wanted to fix everything you would need to redo all the circles and that doesn't sound good) but some were more then 2 pixels off in one direction so a move could happen. (7 in fact)

Good
Entire Podium
Entire Print Media
All Republicans
Everything but Juan in Democrats
Everything but C-Span in TV Media
Everything but Civil Rights in Liberal Lobby
Defense Industry
Banking
Big Oil
Funamentalist

Bad
'Juan' down 1 pixel.
'C-Span' left 1 pixel.
'Hailburton' down 1 pixel.
'NRA' right 1 pixel.
'Moral Majority' right 1 pixel.
'Tobacco' down 1 pixel.
'Civil Rights' down 1 pixel.

I wanted to try Andy's centralization thing but I couldn't figure it out.

Sorry, those one's mentioned looked to based of a different point horizontally.

What I did to get my coodinates was make a circle the same size as my army shadows with a 1 pixel dot in the middle. I just moved this dot around the map over each shadow and recorded what coordinate the pixel was at.

Photoshop. I don't see why you couldn't replicate it in any other program though.

Just for the heck of it. There's a thread regarding the army shadows and I thought I'd do som experimentation:

As I said in that thread- shadows certainly aren't required if its legible without them.

However looking closer, some numbers in repubs and dems are hard to read without the shadow. Especially pink on red- gives me a headache!

But that is a possible route if you try to optimize the colors for legibility/lack of headaches.
