erikisshort has a good point about changing the name of the south to the valley. brownsville, corpus christie, and padre island should all be a part of the valley, so some bonus point changes would need to be made and maybe adjust the barbed wire around that area.

I like the idea of a texas map, since we used to be our own country. Keep up the work on ol' Tejas

I was thinking a Texas map was needed and this is headed in the right direction. Keep it up! Can't wait to play it. Love the airport landjumpers.

About your Texas map

Post by AraAmanda »

Hey I really look forward to playing your Texas map...a new and exciting map...that's really pretty close to accurate... we have too many counties in Texas to separate by county, so I really like how you have divided up areas. Nice job!

Get rid of they Aeroplane routes

They are contrived and make it unnecessarily complicated.

I think you should change Padre Island and Galveston to something closer to their actual sizes and reserve a spot for their army numbers somewhere adjacent to them in the Gulf. Those islands just don't fit the way they are now.

Just a couple of things:

1 - Vermont: Did you mean Vernon?
2 - RGC: Maybe RGV?
3 - You realize, of course, that DFW is not that far north?
4 - There ARE mountains in Texas, but not that many, and further west.
5 - I agree that the cowboy looks a little hokey.

On the positive side, however, I believe you're right on track. Piney Woods and the two islands are exactly what Texas needs to be a playable map.

and the other texas map rlb02a bumped is from last year

My bad; I'm not one to skim the times at which things were posted. I'll keep that in mind though.

from time to time somebody comes to the foundry and digs an old thread from the pits of the foundry. 8)

I don't pay enough attention to dates, either...guess I should start.

I was thinking about starting a Texas map, so I searched for ones in progress. This one has loads of potential, in my opinion, so it's a shame if it really has been abandoned.

The barbwire is brilliant! I like it better than the other border objects. But can you make it stand out more? the barbwire's color is so neutral and blends in with some background colors. Maybe black with white border or some other stonger color?

And why isn't the cowboy wearing spurs?

And how bout them Spurs?

when a map maker does not show up in the forum for over 6 weeks my guess is the map is abandoned

I just put him there to fill in the spot. I did not know what to put up there.
