Axis and Allies browser-based online game

Post by sm8900 »

Try http://www.battleforces.com, for a new browser-based online version of Axis and Allies game. it's really cool! I think people here will like it. it has a lot in common with Conquer Club, by the way. anyone here playing it already? let me know.

It'll take a little getting used to, but it looks ok.
Just played the puter initiation game.

I just started. The forum is rather empty. It could use a "logic dictates" thread.

The Forces Forum does have a Flame Wars section
so maybe a few old CC fryers can go participate.

Yeah, I'm in there too, it's fun, but I had to change my name to BigBallinStahl, I guess the German word for Stalin's not offensive, but I'll see how long it takes them to notice...

ah. well, there's four: standard world, axis and allies, Africa Land war, and indian ocean. Also, the standard world map can be played slightly differently under the name "world powers". the maps shown depends on which games people have started. unfortunately, unlike Conquer Club, they don't let you see or preview a map unless you're in an actual game. oh well.

hey, no problem pal. Just tell her this is a replica of a real wargame, with tactics, strategy, different units, etc etc. so this is just like setting up a board game on a bridge table. if that doesn't work, tell her how it helps teach how to juggle different tasks!

I've done three solos... 1-0 on World as 1-1 on Africa.
The random rule of force might drive you as nuts as
the dice here do... but the same logic applies.

ok. but I think the different unit types, production values, diff maps and terrain, etc etc, make it a bit more of a skill-based game.

Well... I had a single foot solder waste a perfectly good fighter plane
on several occasions and every encounter with aircraft carriers had
me crossing my fingers as I watched the casualty segment play out.
I did lose a few battles when I really didn't expect it... but I must
confess enjoying all the extra toys the navy and air force add.

well, always send in ground troops along with fighter jets...otherwise all enemy dice rolls will be pointed at the jet.

remember, in that game, players do not both roll dice for each unit-to-unit conflict. the attacker rolls, and has to make a percentage to eliminate unit(s). THEN defender rolls separately, to eliminate attackers' units. (I think.)

I've wondering this myself. Whether I should spam INF for defense (15 atk, 30 def), or just building tanks every time (50atk, 30def)? and if the AA is just 0atk 15 or so def and it's $20, what's the freakin point? does it really only target aircraft? I assume, but who knows..

Probbaly should start this in their forum..aehh, too lazy to hit ctril + T, type battleforces.com, haha already could've done it.

The AA, when in a territory with an enemy's planes, will prevent them from being launched.

simple...build infantry when defending; they have 15% chance of success on attacking, 30% on defense.

build tanks when attacking, or if you have abundant production points; they are 50% on attack and 30 % (same as infantry) on defense.

Also, AA can absorb a successful attack which might otherwise hit something more important or valuable.
