I think MLK Jr. accepted help from whomever he could from both Democrats and Republicans. The issue of racial discrimination was much bigger than his party affiliation.

The coastline of the United States hasn't changed since the Civil War.

Oh, and by the way, you missed about, I don't know, almost 200 years of history in there. But, hey, it's okay, Republicans are racist and want to own slaves again; I think we can all get on board with that.

Finally, there's no way in hell MLK Jr. would ever support affirmative action.
