Hey, in my spare time I made a little map of my own that I would like to kick around in the draft room.

I call it
conquer: rank warfare

nothing really special here, just a huge ass map on conquer club ranks. I tried to make the bonuses as fair as possible, but I didn't spend too much time on this. Critiqueing is welcomed warmly.

We do need an artist, as my Photoshop trial ran out a while ago, an I am not profficiant with Gimp...

So for now, please comment on gameplay... Thanks :D

almost looks like you enlarged the CC symbol, then put a rank in every single pixel. ;)

Obviously the big problem is that all the bonuses are impossible to hold, as every territory can be attacked by another.

I think it would be better to have a hold
5 chefs = +5
10 chefs = + 12
5 privates = +6

etc.

Also, should probably be in the ideas forum.

EDIT: Oh, I just realised, maybe you mean each territory gives you a bonus, not holding all of them. In that case it's more like CC Mogul, could work.

I see your point, and your idea could work if we started with like, 200 per territory...

Sorry sinctheassasin,
but i think you have to find someone that help you with graphics first.
For now i prefer to move this in the ideas subforum, because if you can't provide updates for your map, i don't think that the Drafting Room is the best place for your thread.
Find someone and i'll move your thread back in the Drafting Room ;)

Ill try to dig up the origional photoshop file, as it has the patchwork for the logo in 17 by 17 already.

however, if you would like to redraw the entire thing, i would be fine with that! ;)

For the bonus system, I'm vying for something where one territory will get you a bonus.

Ie, cooks are 1 each, then progress up by one for each rank. Perhaps an autodeploy?

Um. I don't actually use photoshop myself... I'm using paint.net currently. Can't afford photoshop and gimp is just too damn slow on my computer. Perhaps if you could save the layers as individual PNG files, then I could easily port them to paint.net.

Or, as you say, I could just start working the graphics from scratch... I'll try to come up with a draft soon.

yeah, i dont really have photoshop on hand anymore, so starting from scratch might be the best way to go. sorry for not posting for a while. Hope you are still interested!

Yeah, as a matter of fact I've already started.... I've been real busy with my own project (see sig) but I'll do what I can.

thats pretty good. I totally understand that two maps at once can be a real pain =D>

as far as the next draft. keep in mind that ranks will have to be able to fit in a similar pattern as above! :D

Yep, for the next draft, I'll concentrate more on fitting the rank symbols in, and making the squares uniform in size, plus having them large enough in both large & small maps to fit at least 2 numbers. Preferably 3...

sounds good, cant wait to see it...

as far as gameplay goes, we still need to discuss bonus structures.... The rest really is part of the map..

are we going to have a bonus per territory (maybe, +1 per territ)

or maybe continents based on rank? (+20 for holding all of the cooks)

or maybe an auto deploy (+1 auto on cooks)

or perhaps even a combination of them all... this is going to be a little tricky to work out ....
