Re: Lx Ladder 2000+ [1 Point update left]
Scores for this Sunday are posted.
This tournament finishes this Thursday, at midnight GMT., at which time I will do the last update and declare the winner (unless it's tied, which seems possible).
[<edited>] To clarify: This is Wednesday, September 30, 19:00 hrs. Eastern Standard Time.

I would also like to thank Lindax. Let me know if you do this again!
Regarding the high rate of drop-outs, here are a few ideas to keep people in the game:
Set it up as a rectangle instead of a pyramid. This would give more people a shot at getting to the top tier without being blocked by folks who are already in a game.
Increase the points awarded for the lower tiers. A few weeks on the lowest tiers practically eliminates a player's chances. Maybe the scoring could be something like 12,11,10,9,8,7 rather than 12,10,8,6,4,2.
The huge bonus for being on the top tier at the end adds a big element of luck in what should be, (as far as possible), a skill game. You might consider dropping that bonus. You might also want to add some kind of tie-breaker.

Thank you for your suggestions Nano.
If two (or more) players end up with the same amount of points, there obviously will be a tie-breaker

Re: Lx Ladder 2000+ [Ending tonight]
And the winner of this tournament is:...........Nanogram!
Congratulations mate!
Looked like it might have ended in a tie-breaker between you an HighlanderAttack, but you pulled it off.
Well, as I mentioned in the first post, this was a bit of an experiment. I think in general it was a success. If I ever do one of these again, I will certainly take all your suggestions for improvement into account.
In the meantime, danryan has started a Doubles Ladder Tournament, based on this one (with my permission btw.
), here is the link to his forum thread: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=97850
I hope that all in all you enjoyed it.

Congrats to nanogram, he and Highlander were head and shoulders above the field in this one. Well played.

Re: Lx Ladder 2000+ [Winner: Nanogram]
Just a few fun facts:
- We played almost 500 games in a 3 month period
- AAFitz and danryan played the most game: 60 each
- Nanogram played 39 and won 24, which is well over 50%
- Kid Moe had the most losses: 34 (sorry mate)
- Djt5483 only played 3 games = one challenge
- Lindax has the most active games still going on: 4
