i noticed that the scoring does not really make sense.

suppose there are 4 equally good players. they are good enough not to get knocked out early but everybody gets knocked out eventually.

the winner gets -1
the second gets +1
third gets +2
fourth gets +3
that is a total of +5
now the bonuses: -1 for each player knocked out
now we are at a total of +2

of course, if one player knocks out all, the total is -1
but that is not that probable. so on average by joining a game each player looses about 1/4 point.
it is even worse if someone might get eliminated earlier than 7th round. suppose all get eliminated before 7th round. then the total is 2+6-1=5

now since players don't need to play all tournaments it is good to play no more, once you have won one a couple of points. that way (unless you believe yourself to play exceptional) you maximize your payoff. so i suggest to change it such that whenever i make one player loose these points i gain these points myself. for example:
winner gets -3
second gets -1
third gets +1
fourth gets +3

if i eliminate someone before 5th round, i get -2

etc.
