Wyoming couldnt find the endzone on offense, they got a lucky break on a blocked punt and had the lead for all of 30 seconds until the future Heismann winner Colt McCoy hooked up with Kirkendoll for the lead going into the half.
After the half was over you saw McCoy come out and be the Texas Qb that he is and lead us to a 31 point win.....
Had Texas came out to play in the 1st half this would have easily been a 40 plus win margin game for us...
True, the offense was lagging, and I made that comment right after half time. But in all honesty, and also from the commentary, even McCoy was feeling the pressure from the Cowboys defense. Even threw a ball right to a Cowboy's team member. And was forced, quite a bit, to throw the ball away, even in the second half. The Defense can only do so much without the Offense doing it's part, but nonetheless, I do not believe that the first half was a fluke.

Like I said, I only saw highlights but what I saw did not look like a good game for either teams defense. after all that's come with him, if Rodriguez doesn't put together a great season, not just good but great, than I think he's probably done.

Well USC made a good late drive to win the game and OSU's offense with some help from a good USC defense imploded ending what little chance OSU had of winning or at least sending the game into over time. Meanwhile, Georgia couldn't do away with SC as they had a long snap go through the end zone for a safety, an interception taken back for a touchdown by SC (Extra point blocked a play that turned into the Dawgs one saving grace) and a good drive that blew up in their faces as SC forced Cox to fumble, Dawgs recover but turn it into 2nd and 30 to end up with a field goal on a drive that otherwise seemed to be heading for a touch down. not only that but in the last 4 minutes of the 4th quarter, Spurrier's Gamecocks took the ball all the way down the field to within the 10 yard line only to be stopped just barely by the Dawgs as the 4th and 4 pass was deflected (if it hadn't been deflected it would have been pass interference against Georgia as they were all over the receiver) to preserve the win for the Dawgs 41-37.
Like i said, SC always mangages to keep it close against us but I have to think this spells troubling times for the Dawgs especially their pass defense which with the exception of a few key plays was all but non-existant. If South Carolina can pass that freely against Georgia, there will be other teams in the SEC that are gonna have a passing field day against Georgia.

Notre Dame/Michigan... actually the defenses did ok and did force turnovers. After the Irish drove 80 yards for a touchdown, an interception gave them a short field and they took seven plays to go 36 yards for another TD and adding a 2 pt conversion... a 3 point lead with 2½ minutes remaining.
Michigan drove 58 yards scoring a TD to take the lead with 11 secs. left.
OSU... fails. Tressel should have enough confidence to roll the dice more often as the Buckeyes settled for field goals twice inside the five yard line... and come up 3 points short.
Troy isn't a cupcake by a long shot. They gave Florida a lot of problems early on, but their offense could not convert on 3rd very short their first four possessions before fumbling at their own 29 giving Florida a short field and their first score and only points of the first quarter. As their defense ran out of gas, Tebow and the Gators put the petal to the metal... VROOOM!
Agree with all.. OSU's lack of TD's inside the 5, and lack of effort to try for a TD in the red zone is what lost them the game, I wasnt that impressed with USC and think that other teams will give them a fit later on, UCLA....
Georgia was exposed as Garcia did everything right, but throw it to the wide open back in the closing seconds for the win. They will have fits with high power passing O's unless they fix that soon.
I didnt see the Bama game but am wondering how they were kept so close with FIU..
And I watched the Michigan/ND game, and can tell you I was impressed with the maturity, decision making, footwork and leadership of their young QB. He didnt give up on plays, used his feet, and made good throws. Him and Garcia are the 2 freshman QB's that should get the hype from their performance, but u know USC will take it all.

That's a big if on the receiver towards the back of the endzone in the closing seconds. It's a lot to ask of a quarterback that's scrambling to be able to look over to either side and spot the open receiver and more to ask for him to make an accurate throw to that guy while on the run as he would have to turn his body while his momentum's pulling him a different direction. As for the Bama game, FIU actually had the lead at a couple points. Scored all of them in the ifrst half, if not first quarter, before Bama was able to get any kind of flow going in the game.

Even more room to shuffle the ranks than last week and a few teams that have yet to meet a worthy opponent to really see what they're working with this year. Most teams have the meat of their schedule remaining, but Boise State's one big challenge was supposed to be Oregon and now Bowling Green may be the only team standing between them and an undefeated season.

Tennessee goes to The Swamp next week after turning this week's game over to UCLA.
Yeah, they got waxed. They couldn't stop Miami. The canes lucked out this year with a schedule with 12 days and 9 days between FSU, GT, and VT. They should win their half of the ACC.

That game was picked by some to be an upset,Houston has a decent and fast team.Big twelve defenses are notoriously horrible anyway,lotta good offense tho,and in state games bring alot of emotional factors into the game.....which is why i'm worried about my Buckeyes against a good Toledo squad this week-end,wouldn't be shocked by an upset there.

After Tennessee drove right down the field against Florida, the Gators came back with a long drive of their own and quickly scored a touchdown against the Vols. Tennessee just punted from mid-field.

13-6 Florida over Tennessee at the half. so far Monte's defense has kept Florida from running up the scoreboard. I do expect the gap to get a bit wider though.

Tennessee has an awful lot of inexperienced players on the field, so it will be interesting to see if they can maintain some momentum in the second half. Even with a few horrible mistakes --like the Vols receiver stepping out of bounds in the end zone and coming back in to catch the pass-- they're hanging tough. I sure wish they'd taken better advantage of their scoring opps though.
In the Pac-10 Washington & Oregon are both hanging tough as well, even though Washington just blew the opportunity for halftime lead by failing to get a play off in the red zone to end the second quarter. Nebraska is giving VaTech all they can handle so far and has a slim halftime lead, but those Cornhuskers are looking very tough.
Utah just ended the first half on the Oregon 3 yard line without scoring and it's, Ducks 21 Utes 7.
I have to admit. Tennessee looks like they'll be a tough team in future years. Actually if Tennessee could find a competent QB to play for them they may be the team to beat in the East in a couple of years.

Bad week for the Mountain West. Last I checked, Texas and Texas Tech despite a relatively slow offensive start for the Big 12 has turned into a game of trading touchdowns with Texas in the lead. Georgia/Arkansas was again a little too close for comfort (hats off to Mallet he played a good game) until late when Georgia finally started opening the gap. USC god upset big time by Washington to my great pleasure!
