An 'account sitting' option is added in the Control Panel
When leaving, the player enters the playername of the 'the account sitter' in the designated box
The account sitter recieves a note of being put in as account sitter
The account sitter can log into the sat account through the control panel
Specifics: While logged into the sat account, the following options are disabled:
No games can be joined, except for tournament games
No new games can be started
When starting turns, the log does not just show the sat account name, but also the name of the sitter
Games where both sat and sitter play in are not shown in the 'My Games' list (except where both are in the same team)
No ratings may be left (optional)
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
A greater distinction between someone sitting and someone playing for another by having accuired the password in a less friendly way (hacking and the likes)
Less cheating by players that use a sat account for their personal gain
Easier to see any fraude or cheating and the possibility to get back on that with the sitter
Less work for the mods (I think at least ;)
Everyone can be more certain that turns are taken, without the risk of the account being hijacked
I might have missed a few things that could be put in here, guess it's up for a bit of discussion

I've been thinking about posting this suggestion. Perhaps the greatest benefit of this is to ensure your turns get taken w/o worrying about that person hijacking your account.

Somehow actually forgot to put that in, while for members thats the most important one :S I've put it in now, thanks
This has been discussed at length before under the name of "Vacation Settings" IIRC. It still sits on the to-do list but the thread seems to have disappeared.
I'd still like some sort of Account Sitting Tool---I think Conquer Club would benefit from such a thing, however, I think it is a little ways down the line still. I know Lack's current short To-Do list is filled up. But I'm still pressing for it and other things.
This option works in other large Web MMO games (like tribalwars) very well. The only problem they have run into is long term sits (i.e. the player has quit, and the sitter has two accounts).
I think the no-join, no feedback, probably no forum rights, limited mail rights is a good idea.
Personally I'm staring at a 2 week vacation coming up, with active Tournaments, trying to figure out how to manage it.

THERE'S NO VACATIONS ON CONQUER CLUB, MISTER!!!!
...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.

LOL.. last time I took vaca last year, I was sitting in my hotel bathroom playing CC on Opera for Mobile (not Mini), and suffering through, trying to explain to my wife why I was taking such long bathroom breaks.
I can not, I will not put my rear end to such abuse again. It's not gonna happen mister!
I rather like this idea, but maybe something more of: If you're in a non-team game with the player than you cannot sit for them. Obviously if the game's turns can't be taken then they will be kicked from it.
I think it's already at the top of the to do list. Lack recently proposed 5 new updates? fixing freestyle was already implemented, so we still have to wait for user controlled deployment, clickable maps, account sitting and what else?

Ah, ZN indeed. Adjacent Attacks is the addition I'm most excited about, and it's funny because it seems quite easy to add. It makes for some very fun games!
New deployment and zombie neutrals could be very fun as well but they seem much more difficult to code. Just the same, any new feature is positive IMO
Good suggestion for the most part. There could be a few issues. Sometimes people need multiple account sitters. IE when the sitter is in a few games against the person they are sitting for. Someone else needs to take those turns to make it fair.
Now that the forums has been revamped, I'd like to see this suggestion revisited. It was supposedly at the top of the to-do list, and I know a lot of players would greatly appreciate it.
Decent suggestion. I would also like to add that maybe a date range could be set for the babysitting? For example, setting the date from the beginning of July 2010 to end of August 2010. When Aug.31 is reached, your sitter can't log into your account anymore and an e-mail will be sent to prompt you that you need to start taking your own turns again.
