heya widow thanx for the pm about this. I like big maps so ya get a yes from me. I do have a suggestion on a theme, not that ya have to listen:) The layout looks like one celled organisms or viruses. If ya get alot of flack on the theme issue, that might be a quick revamp. As most military type viruses are named m-45 or the like, at least in the movies.

Kudos on another great job!

Personally, I prefer the theme maps, but based on the polls it looks like the majority of folks like it, so go for it! :D

Finally! One with literally hundreds of territories! Though yeah, it would help if the barriers were more visible, and possibly a theme, but I have been hoping for a massive game like this! :)

Looks interesting, I would not want to be the person that goes last though. But who knows, maybe some new strategies would emerge. It would probably be best for team play I imagine. Good luck with it. I am interested to see what you come up with. :D

I could totally make a map bigger than this. Bring it on! :P

Seriously though, this looks cool. The current highest is Conquer Man I think? That has like less than 200. 8-)

I'd play it... then again, I play every map! Working on getting a positive rating on every last one.

I am okay with no theme, simple hexes are enough for me... I play for game mechanics, not for themes.

Although I bet if a newb posted this in the Drafting Room it would be laughed at. Being WM has its perks, doesn't it? ;)

the hex shapes are kinda like the BATTLE OF ACTIUM map. that one is hexs, so some sort of theme could be done. Would take a lot of work, but could be some sort of battle map type of theme. Just take the ACTIUM map and enlarge it to this size, add some cool graphics and then you would have the largest CC map of all time.

I did vote yes on the map. Darker between territories would be better.
The column and row numbering is fine, don't worry about renaming them.
Not sure about the 10 max limit, do you get the bonus for the first 10, or the largest 10 bonus amounts?
Is there space in each spot for a 3 digit armies? (like 125)
(I did see the sample with 2 digits (88) on it)

I like the concept, but not the graphics. I think there should be more community votes on maps like this. I think it would drum up a lot more support when a new map comes out, and more people would be willing to go play a new map and provide feedback if they were prompted (via PM) to go look at it and approve it. Great work!

Same thing here.

Great Idea, not great graphics.

I am sure I have seen a computer game before, based on the HEX. It was something about diamonds...

But we really need this type of the map on CC!

Maybe you are talking about Vantage Master? That game was amazing... :)

If you want a theme you could make it a herb garden or something. One bonus could be parlsey, one mint, etc. that might make it easy to pretty up a little. Or it could be an artist's mixing palette with different colours.

I doubt if I'd play it too often myself, big maps tend to mean long games and there are often intervals every coupla months when I can't play.
But there are many big map fans out there and not enough big maps for 'em.

Actually it didn't. The map was dead (due to lack of interest) until I PMed everyoen (everyone that does not visit the foundry) to see if it was a wanted map.

If peopel like it then i will make it.
If they don't then I won't.

Thanks everyone for the input and ideas.

I like the gameplay I laid out in my giant map project much better than this map. My scheme contained 312 territories compared to this 350, but it included many theme possibilities and the unique gameplay of neutral army walls. Perhaps we should consider combining the two ideas? After all, I only started my Huge map when I thought you had given up on yours.

That's pretty nice for any of the foundry forums, much less the Recycling bin, looks like that PM worked.

Personally, I would rather have you create a more "graphics heavy" map. While your maps have unique and very good gameplay, they also have some very good graphics. It seems like a waste to be drawing hexagons.
