As far as I know the Mayans never said that, they simply predicted the end of this era and its replacement by another. Which will presumably come about with a certain amount of blood shed and shenanigans.

Even if they did predict the end of time in 2012 what do they know? Where are they now? Exactly!

If you had read their predictions, alot of them were actually accurate. Its pretty interesting, id look it up.

Yes, which is why they averted the collapse of their civilisation and went on to establish a world empire. :D

The Mayans were good at reading and recording astrological events and patterns, but there is little reason to believe they successfully prophesied anything specific at all.
I won't be losing sleep over it.

I'm about as worried about December 21, 2012 as I am about any other day.

They didn't prophecise anything.

They said it was the end of an era. The beginning of a new one.

So pretty much, whatever happens (Presidential election, or really, whatever) someone will say "Oh, ______ has never happened before, and the Mayans predicted a new beginning, they were right!"

Whether that was what they were actually thinking of.... who knows.

I think its 2112 according to the Rush album, but perhaps we should consult Foxnews to get their take on this exciting and controversial issue.

If it does happen, I guess the Mayans had the right god(s) and the all rest of us (including atheists and agnostics) were wrong.

i did see a movie trailer for the new movie 2012, it looks real cool, it would be really interesting to say the least if the myans are right, who knows, maybe they were visited by beings from another world way back then, it would explain a few things.

The question is how long is your lifetime? Mine ends when the daughter starts dating.

100% think that the hype is pointless. I guess the world could end on December 21st, 2012, but I really don't think it is any more likely than it ending on any other day in the future (if it is going to end at all of course).

I personally think they just made their calendar, got to that point and figured "That should do us for a while," and stopped.

Could be wrong though. Wait and see I guess.

Well it's about damn time. So when time ends, will we be caught in some sort of TSC dimensional rift, or what?
