I play different maps. My favorite right now is age of merchants. But this Doodle Earth isn't much. It looks like my sisiter drew it and it doesn't have many territories. It seems like anybody can make a map now, no matter how pointless it is. I counted the territories yesterday but I forget how many there are, 18? Come on!

it's supposed to have that look. And it's actually awesome

Sorry for bumping an old thread back up to the top, but I just want to let everyone know that I literally stayed up all night reading this discussion. It was amazingly interesting to read about all the development, hard work, and great ideas that went into one of my most commonly played maps. I noticed that since most of the comments were almost two years ago, many of the doubters and those who tried to block the map on the grounds of novelty or stupidity are no longer with the site, but that most of the strongest supporters are still active players. You may draw your own conclusions from that. Alas, DIMwit seems to be on an extended break, but if this map ever needs a revamp, hopefully she'll come back.

Congratulations to all who helped make this map the huge success that it is. I had not played CC for a long time, so when I came back, I had to become reacquainted with all the new maps, this one included. I literally laughed out loud at "More Russia," "Andy's Mountains," and "Austr(al)ia." Brilliant job on them all. Doodle Earth is really the standard by which all small maps should be based, and I thank all who helped contribute to a great map.

Indeed looking back this map has sure been a success. Addiction to some people. ;) My how the times have turned. Ruben made Lux. :D I do try to stay away from this map. It is bad for me, but a cool map.

It's hard for me to distinguish gray from green in the Asia continent, especially with 1 army on it.

Love the map though, it's small but great.

WHOA. Sorry I'm late, guys; I just got a little caught up in traffic for two years. That I-676 is a killer during the rush months. I had to live off ordered pizza, and then the delivery guys got stuck in traffic too, and don't get me started on the rainstorms, it was awful.

...no, pretty much what happened was I started college, my life moved a bit in the offline direction, I made some friends, got a job, started writing a book... Honestly I don't know what reminded me of this site but coming back I'm glad to see my little doodle is making people happy. Really I feel kind of crummy for not checking in more often after all this support. Haha... by the way I'm a dude.

ANYWAY as far as a revamp goes, I'm certainly not opposed to the idea. However, though I've improved in many areas in the last two years, I fear computer art skills are not particularly one of them. Also the original map file is on an old computer in Microsoft PhotoDraw format so accessing it is a slight bother. Still, if popular demand calls for it, I have a very unbusy three weeks ahead of me and even after that I'll still be on the planet so maybe I ought to give it a shot.

Then again, gosh, maybe I should start up another map and see how it goes...

Well, if all y'all say so, who am I to disagree.
If anyone else is having problems telling green from gray in Asia that could be fixed...
Though why anyone would put 8 players on this leaflet anyway is beyond my ken...

It seems that there is a little bug in the bonus of 3 troops for holding America.
For 2 rounds in a row, I was holding the continent America but did not receive the 3 troops bonus in any of the 2 rounds. Game Game 9946588.
It would be appreciated if the problem could be corrected for the future.
Many Thanks

You need to also hold Greenland to receive the bonus.
