Suggestion - Sort Game Finder by number of players

Post by terrypen »

Sort Game Finder by number of players that are left to join.

I would like to be able to sort the game finder to have the games that need the least number of players left to start
at the top of my sort.

Why it is needed: to elevate my Conquer Club experience and to speed up my game finding experience 8-)

i believe it would be nice if on the game finder you could search games on how many spots are available. Because many times i search for triple games and only the one's with one player show up on the first page and I have to go all the way down the pages untill i find one with two or three spots available. I think this would be an excellent edition to the website

Free slots search in Game Finder view

Post by pela666 »

Concise description:
  • Be able to search for free slots that are left when you are looking for a game.

Specifics:
  • Example, I going to join a game but I will be able to search for those game that only have one open slot left, because I will have this game start now. not in a few days.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • I think this will make more games start faster and it will be easier to search for a game.

Slots Remaining Option for 'Game Finder' Page

Post by lgoasklucyl »

Concise description:
  • In the game search page, an option for 'number of empty slots'. This way, (for example) instead of just searching for an 8p game, you can search for an 8p game with one open slot.

Specifics:
  • Pretty self-explanatory, really.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Mainly, it will help people who want to meet new teammates but not risk having a deabeat or someone who doesn't communicate well hopping in on their team and ruining it for them. Instead, said person can search for:
    "Doubles, 4 Player, 1-slot remaining"
Then, they can pick from the partners who have filled most of the game already and avoid letting the rest of the team fill randomly.
  • Players wouldn't have to look through 2500+ pages of games to find these types of games.

It's a good suggestion. Whilst we wait for the implementation-turtle-god to decide ... there's a plug-in you can use (if you're using Firefox as your browser) that adds this feature and several others. Take a look at Conquer Club Games Filter GM Script for details.

Game Finder Parameter: # of open slots

Post by YoursFalsey »

Concise description:
Allow game finders to search games by number of players who have not signed up yet

Specifics:
Any game still awaiting players is awaiting between one and seven players. Allowing players to find games with X open slots would allow them to get list of all games that (for example) are still awaiting two people before they start.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
Games should fill up sooner, because players can more easily find the games that just need one more player to start.
Freemiums w/ their limited slots can spend less time in games awaiting players and more time in ongoing games which should encourage them to have fun and upgrade to paying customers.
If a group of players wants to have a game in common, they can find a game w/ enough slots more easily then starting a new game and waiting for it to fill.
Ultimately, this helps players who just want to play in any game and don't care about what the settings are.

I like this. Even as a premium, I've often looked for single-open slot games. Very good suggestion. =D>

Ready to Go

Post by PL »

Not sure if this has been posted before,
but could we have a search that finds all games that are missing 1 player?
So, there is 1 empty slot left.

As in, if I wanted to join a game and immediately go, I can search for it in Game Finder?

Say What?!? - Countless Pages of Pending Games.

Post by epicethan »

So basically, I have time and time again entered into the search fields that I would like to play a terminator/assassin game with at least 6 players, and have spent the next 5 or 10 minutes going through the (what sometimes seem endless) pages looking for a game that is ready to start immediately when a person (me!) joins it. Occasionally, when I reach a game that has 7 out of 8 possible players already joined, and I click the join-game button, it will say that the game has already started.

So, what I am proposing is another option in the search fields where you are searching for a game to join that will say something like: "Search only games with 1 player remaining to join" (or two players if need be). (You get the point)
Obviously I am not a good "button namer" so the name should be simplified to an appropriate length (any suggestions!?!?).
This addition would save me some frustration (and probably other people) from searching through many pages of options for the 'right game to join'.

I realize that a 50 game pending limit for premium members has been instituted as, I suspect to cut-down on the already thousands of pending games (as well to decrease the ever increasing burden of the overloaded servers that conquerclub rests its oversized shoulders upon), which IMO is a good thing (although I think that if you are going to pay for an online game, you should get unlimited games (pending or active), but that is besides the point)

However, I think that this would be a good and worthwhile addition.

As always, suggestions and feedback are welcome and specifics in regard to the search button naming process (or whatever you want to call the process). Let me know what you guys think!!

Or if not that, have an option that after you do make a game finder search, the games come up with the most open spots on top, and the least open spots on bottom, instead of sorting by game number...

Games filled 75% or higher check box

Post by willedtowin1 »

Make a check box (filter) for game finder for all games 75% full or more
Most people dont have time to scroll thru 60+ Pages in "Join a Game".
it takes forever!

PLACE THE NAME OF THE SUGGESTION IN THE SUBJECT LINE!

Things to remember when posting a new suggestion are that the dice are random, and that lots of analysis has been done on them both internally and public by community members. Also, please take time to search for previous similar suggestions and, if possible, to check current and archived threads before posting something "new". Delete the xxxxxxx, and substitute your text.

In the Game Finder Location
make available a check box similar to the speed games check box

  • xxxxxxx

when clicking on the join game icon, you have to scroll thru 60+ pages to find games that are almost full. This will ease the trouble of finding mostly filled games. Most higher ranked players prefer to wait to join games till it almost full. That way they dont join a game that might fill with to many monkeys. A few monkeys joining tho does make the game a little interesting. :)
It also allows the monkeys to find mostly full games besides :-P

  • Many times higher ranked players prefer to play with the least amount of monkeys (low rankers) as possible. In other words...they prefer to play good games. Not necessarily games where people play suicide or "kill the high ranker 1st cause im afraid of him next to me" kind of games

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • It will fill games faster and make players happier

Besides............
It is such a pain to scroll thru 60+ pages of games when you want to join games
that are almost full so you can manage your game count better.
Especially when you like playing a wide variety of maps.
Or prefer only to find games almost full.

I originally thought of this as it would help satisfy the large amount of people
wanting Rank Restricted games. making it easier to find good games for them.
That way it wont necessarily single lower ranked people out.

I would generally be something to assist all rank players find games
that would start sooner.

Maybe 65% or 70% full filter would be better.
That is up for discussion.

I like the idea behind this.

What if instead of a box, a sort option on game results was by # of slots remaining? (fewest to most)

Disagree. Too many people would do that option leaving only a few people to start games and having no one join them. Sure, a few people will invite friends for quad/trip games, but those are mostly high level players.

I think this idea will just stagnate the amount of new games.

I'd support this. I think it's better than % when you only have 12 total slots anyway.
