A bunch of people asked about this, so I'm just posting this weeks mafia section in here before the full thing comes out.
Here it is!
captainwalrus wrote: Hello! I'm captainwalrus, and I will be bringing you another great edition of the segment I have named,
The Highest Tree. I will tell you all about the goings on of CC mafia and I even conducted an interview and found the meaning of life.
So without much further ado, on with the nothings of mafia.
First, My interview with the mafia regular, stoop.
show
Stroop wrote: Q: What got you interested in mafia games?
When I started to play tournaments and became active in a competitive clan I was on the forum more and more. I saw the mafia subforum, looked at a few games and decided I wanted to try it out.
Q: I heard somewhere that you have been mafia 7 of 9 games. Is this true? Do you have any tips for someone like me who has never been mafia before?
I don't know if it's really 7 of 9, but it is definitely a lot. To be honest I wish I were town more often.
I generally re-read every post I write and ask myself "would I write this if I was a townie?". People still catch on to me though, I can only imagine what a horrible townie I would be...
Q: Who is your favorite mafia mod?
I really liked how [player]Sierra_Leon[/player] did his vote counts, scenes and pretty much everything else in
Avatar, The Last Airbender mafia . I try to do my games in about the same format (don't worry, I asked
).
Q: How tall are you on a scale from one to ten?
Seven
Q: Do you prefer themed games, or non-themed?
Themed games, but only if I know the theme.
Q: In five words or less , what do you think is the meaning of life?
Realization of dreams. Also scotch.
Thanks!
You're welcome
Next a summary of games.
Ongoing:
All the games mentioned in the newsletter last week are still going strong, and a new game has begun. The mod, a Weekly Nothing helper, has written a short description.
show
Winner Mafia, (as it's been renamed) as just started up. There is confusion among the town about whether LV is in the game or not, and what his role is. He's at Lynch-1 (which means the next vote on him is a hammer, and kills him). A claim will soon be gathered from him. We'll see how this all pans out in the next newsletter. ;3
The other ongoing games, which were described fully last week, have the essental info below.
show
Never ending story mafia. Scum won! Alive players at the end: pmchugh, Thezzaruz, Falkomagno, Nzen, sam_levi_11, gimpyThewonder and thischarmingman. =d>LOTR mafia. Day 3, needs one replacement! The town lost 2 simi-important people, but 13 of 15 people are still alive, so the game is far from over. PNC's Newbie game Night 3, but the town is in a bit of a tight place. They were too stupid to listen to me, so myself and another cop both were killed before we had the change to investigate. 5 of 10 people are still alive. 2 more were lynched on day 3 fue to an odd role setup Order of the Stick Mafia Night 3, 8 out of 15 dead including many townies and a mafia godfather. One 3rd party person, crystal (lyncher/killer) , won already, so to you.
Upcoming games.
Twilight Mafia , by LSU tiger josh
show
It'll be themed off of the first book "Twilight". There will be many twists throughout the game so don't try to play the mod as you will lose. It'll start August 1 if we have enough sign-ups by then.
Chuck Mafia by /
note: He was the only mod to make his segment exactly 25 words which was the loose requirement.
show
Twist roles, individuals may become counter productive for their main cause on both sides to underline the themes of loyalty (country/organization/ally) vs. morality.
Rival Tribes Mafia by Simon Viavant
show
It's not like a normal mafia. There is no "town" faction, just 4 rival "tribes" (a bit like 4 separate mafia factions) that are competing for dominance, and a few outsiders with their own agendas.
Mortal Kombat Mafia by Suspect101
show
I am getting ready to mod a Mafia game running off of the theme of Mortal Kombat. This game will use the characters from Mortal Kombat as characters in the Mafia game. I am not sure of how things will work because I am waiting to see how many players will sign up. The more, the better things will work in my mind. So come join.
Snake Eater Mafia by Minister Masket
show
Well, open for sign-ups right now is Snake Eater Mafia, a game based off of the excellent Metal Gear Solid 3 PS2 game, which could very well pave the way for the other games in the series. 15 players needed.
The rest of the upcoming games, which either started after I sent out the Pm's or who's mods never replied
show
Rat Mafia by Suspect101. This one looks really cool. 4 slots left. The town is mafia and the mafia is town with like rats in the mob. I don't know, just check it out! [url=http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=213&t=89563&start=0] Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? 14/15 left! sign up. Based on the book, which the Blade Runner movie was also based on, so this is deffinently as awesome as blade runner using the transitive property of based on.
I personally recommend that all you
go sign up for any of these games, but rat mfia in particular looked especially cool.
'till next time, happy scum hunting,
~ Captainwalrus

In desribing my game you worte "fue" instead of "due" and it's PMC not PNC. Also the way you said "7 of 9" shouldn't it be "7 out of the last 9 games".
Apart from that though it is looking good

I just read somewhere that he had been scum the last 7 of 9 games so I figured that he would have some tips or something for new players that I could ask him about.

While yes I do want to be interviewed, and there are people who I think would be good to be interviewed, I'm mainly just wondering. I also think we should have interview sign ups so that people who want to be interviewed can be ;3

Well now's your chance sunshine.

MM and "good" should probably not be used in the same sentence

Yeah, "good" is too negative a term.
"Brilliant" would be more appropriate, although I would also accept "Excellent", "Astounding" and "Revolutionary".

What about "nuts"
Go back to your old avatar because:
A. You stole snorri's
B. The old one made you look more nuts, suited you better

A) What rot! I had it for about a month before he nicked it from me.
B) I rotate between 4-ish on a yearly basis. Be patient.
