I have been running ++The Legion++ Ladder for a while now and thought it may be a good idea to do it as a tournament, although it will be a bit of an experiment. The idea is that you can challenge a player who is one step above you and if you beat that player you exchange places. If you do that often enough you'll be on top. We will play until September 30th, which is approximately 3 months.

For the ladder, ongoing challenges and updates, see page 2.
Scoring system: (The first time points will be awarded is Sunday, July 12, 2009)
You will get 2 points every time you challenge a player and x points for the rung you are on every Sunday at the stroke of midnight GMT (rung 1 is the top):
rung 1: 12 points
rung 2: 10 points
rung 3: 08 points
rung 4: 06 points
rung 5: 04 points
rung 6: 02 points
The player on the top rung will get 24 bonus points on October 1st, at the stroke of midnight GMT, and whoever has the most points at that moment wins the tournament.
Rules for challenging etc.
1.- You challenge a player 1 rung above you here in this thread. The player challenged chooses the map and the settings posts them in this thread. The map and setting have to be the same for all 3 games. I will set up the games and send the password by pm.
2.- You cannot choose the same map two challenges in a row and you can only use the same map 3 challenges in total. You are free to choose any settings, except freestyle.
3.- If the player challenged does not respond within 3 days, he loses the challenge and he/she exchanges places on the ladder with the challenger. If the challenger does not join the game within 3 days, everything remains the same.
4.- When you win a game post it immediately in this thread.
5.- You can only play 1 "challenge game" at a time.
6.- You can only play the same player again after one of the two have played a game with another player.
7.- When a challenged player successfully defends his/her place on the ladder, that player cannot be challenged again within a period of 24 hours. This rule does not apply to the player holding first place.
8.- "Future challenges" are not accepted. In other words: You cannot challenge the winner of game x, for example.
9.- If your score goes below 1800 points you cannot challenge anybody until your score is at least 2000 points again.
Note: For me to be able to update you have to post everything (except passwords) in this forum thread. Failure to do so will make things very difficult for me and may be rewarded with unpleasant measures.
