Anyway. Tonight, I (again) have 2 different brews from the Propeller Brewing Company. I have just cracked a growler of the Bitter (my standard), and have a growler of the Pale Ale in the fridge. I almost never buy the Pale, but I felt like having something a little more "pedestrian" tonight.
Re: What beer are you currently drinking?
I had a BL lime today. It was pretty tasty, I'm not a big lager guy but I used to consume quite a bit of budwieser for effect in my past. Never had fruit flavour in it before.

When I was but a newbie to drinking, it was common in the UK to drink lager with lime cordial, or (mainly for girlies) with blackcurrant cordial in it.

Re: What beer are you currently drinking?
I get it (mainly for the kids) from an online shop selling Brit products - along with mushy peas, pickled onions, prawn cocktail crisps, Branston, hobnobs, and proper bloody tea.

That's what you get for livin' in the renegade break away nation.
We can get hobnobs, pickled onions and brown sauce off the self here. What's proper tea?

I've never consumed a fruity brew and tend use limes with tequila,
well... lemon usually as it's my preference of the two.
Years back I had friends who went to school in Mexico City and brought home
the habit of knocking back shots of tequila with beer(s).

good leaf tea, not teabags, not fruity herbal la-de-bloody-da nonsense, and most certainly not debloodycaffeinated,
I like to blend my own. A mixture of Kenyan, Sri Lankan, a little Darjeeling and a pinch of Oolong.
For the British market, the leaves are chopped finer than for most markets. I don't know how it works, but this gives a distinctly different taste. If you get leaf tea in the US, it's all either like Darjeeling (long strands) or is actually whole leaves which are processed to curl up into a ball,,and which unravel as they infuse.

Okay guys. That's more than enough tea talk in this beer thread.

Sorry.
Right now, I'm not drinking beer, I'm drinking cider - Magners. I'm just about to get another bottle.

I have not been drinking cider lately but do enjoy it sometimes. First time we went to England my wife didn't want me to look like a woman by ordering a cider. I laughed then ordered beer so as not to shame her.

Why would drinking cider make you look like a woman? Do they put special hormones in it round your way or something?

Woodchuck Amber Cider is nice. And made in Vermont, so it's got class.

Nope just the crowd my mrs. was running with in southhampton I suspect. "Cider?.. That's for women and the Irish."
One of my all time favorites I discovered on that trip 'Tetley's english cream ale' that's a perfect beer right there.
We can get all sorts of tea here I would suspect you could find proper bloody.

I've tasted that, it's not too bad (and they make a few others too, all passable) - but they're too sweet, like a lot of things in the US.

Are there better American ciders? I've got a friend who swears by it, although he's a)not much of a drinker b) typical provincial American. But do we have better over here?

Re: What beer are you currently drinking?
The only other US cider (i.e. hard cider) I've encountered was Hornsby's, which is a little less sweet.
Any other candidates anyone?

Had some Stella Atois earlier this evening, but that's all gone so now I'm back on the PBRs.

Re: What beer are you currently drinking?
I had more Efes last night - it's truly shit beer, but the only stuff widely available here.
