Re: What beer are you currently drinking?
I actually drank some Schlitz Malt Liqour tall boys last night. First ones in probably 15 years. Quite odd for a 38 yr old white guy in a suit to buy in inner city Houston. Still tastes like shit, in case you were wondering.

nothing wrong with a little bit of man on dog love.

Love the local stuff!!!
Despite you telling me about this all the time, I still have yet to try this particular Bell's.
Since moving down to Texarkana, I've been sticking to Dos Equis. Found it to be rather refreshing, particularly after our 95 F (35 C) temps we're having here.
So when are you back in the D?
We need to go to Dragonmead again!

Oh, and Falco, could you explain to us why no one south of the border drinks Corona?
Honibaz
Because it tastes as piss, compared with another nationals brands. But there is a bunch of disoriented people that drinks Corona often anyway.
To real good taste, you should try Club colombia

I'll have to give it a try. I like Tequate, but i've heard rumors about the Corona. My son has Mexican friends that he went to visit in Monterey, and when he tried to order a Corona they were like "oh no, only stupid gringos drink that".

I'll be back Saturday, June 27th, when I'll probably be busy in the morning and then drive to Lapeer to go camping in the evening, and Sunday June 28th, when I'll be going to see my sister's new house, and maybe doing something else. Then flying back out to AR on Monday June 29th. After that, probably not until July 31.

A dear friend of mine got me a sampler of various British beers last Christmas, including a Fursty Ferret. And I thought it was a real nice beer.

since I am not of legal drinking age,

Re: What beer are you currently drinking?
Currently

Excellent local brew, for when I want something with a little more kick, alcohol-content-wise.
But, my all time favourite, is

Same brewery, but much darker/tastier, and only 5.2%.
Also, whoever said they're drinking Bud Light needs to learn how to drink beer. That shit tastes like someone poured out a beer, and filled the dirty bottle with cold water.

I'm dead serious about it too. The first (and only) time, I ever had a Bud Light, I honestly thought the friend who handed it to me had played a trick on me.

When i go out drinking i do 6 or 7 shots of Cuervo before i leave the house so i won't have to wade through a couple 6 packs to get where i want to be. My wife insists that this proves that i'm an alcoholic - not because i drink a lot, but because i just drink it for the effect. Wtf?

Ohh...cuervo...as a newbie in the alcohol game, I loved tequila. Played chess once with 8 shots...dont think anyone won...
At crested butte, went up to the bartender and asked for 3 shots of tequila...he said, I cuervo OK? I said, of course. He grabbed his tap and poured 3 shots....yup...cuervo on tap...perhaps thats common, but I sure as hell never saw it before.
Oh, and youre not an alcoholic, youre a drunk. Alcoholics go to meetings....
I'm Spanking Monkey now....err...I mean I'm a Spanking Monkey now...that shoots milk

The worst light beer (and by the way in the UK they have Light ale which is not necessarily low in alcohol, so watch out if you're there- it refers to the colour) is Sam Adams.
Every other Sam's I've tried has impressed - of the generally available stuff, it's probably my favourite brewery here. But the "light" was dull, totally lacking in falvour, and so far as I could detect alcohol-free. It was making love in a punt.

I was going to ask if bud light was actually a beer but Timminz answered it before I could ask.
My tendency is to drink Heinekin when I wasnt something light and Guinness if I'm only hoisting a few
and there's a local pub that pours black & tans that can be habit forming.

Re: What beer are you currently drinking?
Tonight, I have (had) 2 brews from the same local brewery I was drinking the other night ( and most nights). Tonight it was a growler of their "London Style Porter", and now bottles of the "Extra Special Bitter".
Local brew wins every time.
Did you know that "national" brands use high-fructose corn syrop, pre-yeasting, to cheaply increase the alcohol-content of their wort, and then water the "beer" down to the standard percentage, in order to make twice as much, for very little extra cost.

Re: What beer are you currently drinking?
In a couple of hours I am going to a little medieval shindig at a nearby by pub. According to the advert in the paper they will have 60 real ales on the go, local ciders and perrys, a hog roast, archery and jousting. Although I'm not sure how sensible archery is with all that beer flowing. It is going on for two days. So I make that 30 beers a day with a cider chaser, fortunatly I dont like perry so that'll ease the burden somewhat.
I will let you know how it goes later...........or possibly tomorrow..........or Monday

Re: What beer are you currently drinking?
WOW...what a day. I was like a kid in a sweet shop. I walked into the beer tent and they had a 10 foot by 4 foot chalk board with all the beers lsted on it. man talk about difficulkt decisions. How do you choose 1 beer from 60. it was pretty clear early on that i had to switch from pints to halves if i wanted to put a dent in the list, as it is i only managed 17 beers(3 pints the rest halves) and 2 ciders(halves). I know this because thre was a beer list on which you could tick off ach one youve tried. I wiil try to scan it in tomorrow.
