Re: Jeopardy! Season 1 (27/27) FULL
Okay, I'm updating Groups A, C, E, G, and H. I'm going to be sending out the games momentarily.
Anyway, this post is just to say the format for Final Jeopardy, since I'm changing it to whatever I said before.
There will be a clue. Before, EVERYBODY [If you don't, you will be disqualified. No exceptions.] will be telling me an amount they wish to wager. Then, the clue will be revealed, and there will be THREE games [or two, depending if somebody had $0 and therefore could not wager, OR if a person was disqualified, and thus two. If everybody was disqualified, [except for one person in a group], that person would gain half of their opponents combined scores.]. If you win a game, you will get your wagered money added on to your score. If you don't win a game, your wager would be deducted from your score. So choose wisely. Person [out of ALL the groups] with the most money will be crowned the winner of this tournament.
If that paragraph is absolutely incomprehensible to anybody, I'll explain it better. Promise

Re: Jeopardy! Season 1 (27/27) FULL
Group I
I'll take countries for $200 (whatever that means)
I hope that's OK, I've no idea what's going on here. Where are these clues? I have only a passing reference to the game Jeopardy when it spills into UK media via other media such as "Groundhog Day".
Sorry for taking so long, I've only just looked at the game chat.

Re: Jeopardy! Season 1 (27/27) FULL
Well, I really feel pathetic. Just look at this tournament and another that I've organized. No new updates since mid-July.
Honestly, when I started this tournament, I didn't think I'd still be organizing a year later. I also didn't think I'd be organizing it a year later and be sick of updating a tournament like this. I just keep pushing it back, and just look how the weeks and days have gone by. Often days come when I don't even think of it. And when I do, I just feel completely stressed out.
So. I know some of you are sick of this tournament. Or at least the length. And guess what? I am too. I don't want to be sitting here in 2012 and still trying to wrap up this tournament. I don't. And I doubt most of you would still be interested in playing this. So, I have come up with ideas to shorten this. A lot.
Firstly, I'm cutting back on the remaining games. By A LOT. Each group will have 5 -ish [can be raised if enough people protest against this] games left. Afterwards Final Jeopardy and then, we're done. I'm probably going to change all of the settings to Escalating or Flat Rate [unless people protest, again].
For reserves - those groups that have less than all players present, I'm quite sick of going through reserves. After replacing approximately half of the tournament's players [and yes, I will blame part of it on my slow organizing skills] you get sick of doing reserve threads. You do. Go try it and find out for yourself if you want to know how I feel. So, I will do random.org before each game. If the absent player would have won, then, the game will not be played. [so that 2 - people groups don't have an advantage]
So, my proposal: lower games to 5 games [ish]. Then, do final Jeopardy. Declare winner. If groups have 2 > players, then they will have random.org decide if the absent player would have won. If so, the game will not be played.
I'm sending this out to all tournament participants. I want your opinions on this matter, and it'll [should] enhance your tournament experience.
I'm updating sometime before Labour Day, but not before September.
And also, if you miss your category choice too bad. You better wish random.org has a lucky category choice in your place.
