From Large Games to Small Games [Winner: LLLUUUKKKEEE]

Re: From Large Games to Small Games [Semifinals]
Another update from Group 1--LLLUUUKKKEEE's been knocked out of Game A. If I'm doing my math right, he's got to win Game C (a distinct possibility) and knock out his opponents in the right order just to force a tie and have any shot at the finals.
Death_on_a_horse is down to a single army and will likely finish second to Shurr, but both remaining players hold 4 cards, so things could get interesting.
Also, in Group 2--went back and looked at the numbers again, and ZionT's win in the first game guarantees at least 8 points and a tie for the lead in that group. For either aniximo or jly_thechampion to force that tie, one of them will have to win both remaining games and knock out ZionT first.

Re: From Large Games to Small Games [Semifinals]
Group 1 Game A is now over, with Shurr taking the win as expected. That gives Shurr a 6-5-4 lead over Death_on_a_horse and LLLUUUKKKEEE, respectively. Order of finish in the last game is obviously going to be very important--we've got the possibility of a three-way tie! I'll keep you posted.

Indeed you do--nice work. Here's the game number: Game 5067802. I will, of course, send out a PM to those of you playing in the game.
Re: From Large Games to Small Games [Semifinals]
Congrats to our first finalist: ZionT. By eliminating aniximo in Group 2, Game B, ZionT will earn at least 9 points (probably more) and cannot be caught by either opponent! Thanks to aniximo and Death_on_a_horse for a great tourney.
ZionT will await the winner of the Group 1 tiebreaker, which is only in Round 2.

Whoops, my mistake. I meant jly_thechampion, not you.
Hopefully, for your sake, that wasn't an awful bit of foreshadowing ...

I just saw this result--congrats to LLLUUUKKKEEE, our second finalist, and thanks to Shurr and Death_on_a_horse for a fantastic tournament.
I'm going to PM our two finalists now; as soon as I have game settings from them, we'll get the finals started!

Re: From Large Games to Small Games [Finals]
All right, the finals games have been created and the finalists have been notified. I'll update this thread as games finish and we determine a champion!
Re: From Large Games to Small Games [Finals]
LLLUUUKKKEEE jumps out to a 1-0 lead with a win on the Egypt: Lower game. A couple of the other games are getting close, but I'll hold off on announcing results until they're actually finished.
Re: From Large Games to Small Games [Finals]
LLLUUUKKKEEE won his second home game, on the France 1789 map, and is very close to wrapping up a third win and the tournament. I'll make an official announcement as soon as the game actually finishes.

Re: From Large Games to Small Games [Winner: LLLUUUKKKEEE]
Congratulations to our winner! LLLUUUKKKEEE played a great tourney and really pulled it together at the end, winning 3 of the 4 finals games so far.
Thanks to everyone who played. You made my first tournament as organizer a great experience. I'll probably run another one soon, so if you enjoyed this tourney, keep your eyes out for the next one!
