Random map/map settings setting. Ok, so basically you will start a game called random, which you can only specifiy the number of players as a game option. Then once the game has started the settings will be shown and map will be chosen **NOT DURING THE JOIN STAGE**
Specifics:
Have the regular 1-8 player games
Team games could be selected if desired
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
Would be a fun element forcing users to use all of the maps available on the site.
Would be more difficult to be a map specific player
...feel free to add

ja jaja, well... nice idea. I think it would need to show if the game is standard or doubles, triples or cuadruples... there are lots of people that like that kind of games, and maybe they dont join just because they dont see what tipe of game is it. in general I like it...

I like the idea of a "random map" a LOT. In fact, it's the very basis of most of the tournaments that I run.
But I personally would NEVER want to be forced into, for instance, a freestyle game.
So maybe if it could be set up so that "anything not selected would be randomly determined"...that way, I can still specify that it will be a sequential game or a standard game or a doubles game...but then anything I didn't specify would be randomized. I think this would be a tremendous addition to the site, personally.
...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.

i think this is a great idea. However i believe that random should be a option for every setting avaiable
e.g. forts - adh, unlim, chained, random
so people could specify game type and seq play for example whilst still having random cards map and fog

I like what you guys have to say, and i agree with all of you. That was kinda what i was going for, an option to add in the random element to everything or just some specific map aspects.
Excellent idea! Random map, weather, cards ... hmm some people might not like the chance of having to play freestyle. Perhaps not include that bit? So you would select number of players, doubles, assassin... whatever ... seq/free and then random the rest.
I would be worried though that many people wouldn't completely think through the decision. They might see a game with random cards for example, but not completely think out what the options are for cards. So they join, then it falls on No Cards and they think "oh crap, I didn't even know that was an option" and they ignore the game perhaps. I guess this would mainly be for new players who didn't care about losing rank and just as well didn't know what the game types were.
Well the people here that would deadbeat on games, would anyway I don't see too many people just leaving their game because it has no cards. If I were to join a random game I would be expecting the worst not the best, because if I wanted to play something I was comfortable with / everyone playing was comfortable then I would create a game with no randomness.

What do you guys think? This could be a problem?
random settings could be stopped for new recruits same as complicated maps are atm i believe

Couldn't this idea be extended to any of the settings? When creating a game, you can pick whichever settings you want for sure, and set the rest to random.
Another option needs to be added to the poll: "Anything not selected is randomized"
...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.
anyt think anythink not selected randomized would be better worded as option for randomizing any setting... just me being picky though... some people might get confused...

Oooh you got it! Select all the things you want to control. Hit random and watch it fill in the rest. Perfect!
Blocking new recruits makes some sense. They should be allowed to join randomised games, just not create them. (Unless, of course, the game randomised to a setting that was already blocked for new recruuits eg Freestyle AoR.)

Rocket.
i think the suggestion is that you don't know what random settings were selected until after the game starts... so not only the creator but the other players do not know what the game will be when they join

Keep gaining community support until you attract the attention of a mod... then maybe a senior member of the CC team... then let it sit on the to do list for several years... then voila

Hopefully it will be shorter than that. At least part of the suggestion...
