Re: Pokétourny [FULL]
...wait a minute....
Those of us who joined our games but they were dropped because somebody else didn't are eliminated regardless? That hardly seems fair. This tournament took forever to fill, so it's inevitable that some people wouldn't join their games, especially with such a large tournament. I know that my game had 6 or 7 people in it almost immediately, where it stayed for two weeks, then dropped.
If this is the case, I won't be playing in any more of your tournaments. It's simply not fair to be eliminated because somebody else didn't join the game.

i agree, doing tourny's your first time is not that easy...give him a break..now given, if he messes up next time then, no mercy..

Be that as it may, denominator's right, it isn't fair that a whole group of folks should be eliminated without even playing

I totally understand that. I haven't run a tournament yet because I know I don't have the time to do it right now. That's also why I haven't gotten upset over the length of it in the least - it's a huge tournament and it's his first.
But from a tournament standpoint, and I would have this problem in any tournament, you're punishing up to 7 players per group because the 8th didn't show up. That would be like going to run a marathon, showing up, and told you're disqualified because Joe Blow who was supposed to run against you was too lazy to wake up that morning.

Re: Pokétourny [FULL]
i know i know and i'm terribly sorry. a few things happened. one, the tournament directors for some wild reason decided it was a brilliant idea to move my reserves thread to the archives section of the forum. i didn't realize this and never checked because if someone replied, i knew it would send me an email. then, by the time i realized this happened, all of the games that were not filled had been (i'm not quite sure but i assume) automatically dropped because of too much time. i then assumed all of the games were filled and by the time i realized they weren't, almost every game was finished. i felt terrible, i really did, but i kinda let it slide because a) this tournament is enormous and i knew not everything could go right b) it would take an extremely long time to get it back, and c) i had two research papers looming over my head and no spare time, which is also why i haven't made round 2 games yet. and yes, it is my first tournament and perhaps i bit off more than i could chew. so please, accept my apology, i am truly sorry.

Re: Pokétourny [FULL]
actually, you know what i'll do? i'll send out pms to all the people who's games were canceled, and who ever replies within three days will be put into more games that i will make. this also solves the problem of reorganizing round two games.

Thanks. This, to me, seems the appropriate course of action.
