Deadbeating and missing turns should cost points !!!

Post by Mightor »

I think deadbeating should cost points as it is very anoying to the other players and a delay in the gameplay !!
I suggest missing a turn should cost 5 points to each player in the game, and if you get kicked out becaurse you missed turns you should pay another 10 points to each player in the game !!

You should re-name this topic to "Missing turns should cost points !!!". The act of deadbeating is to miss three consecutive turns and be kicked from the game, so in theory by doing that you're already forfeiting your points.

Anyway, I can foresee this getting abused by point-dumpers, if it was to be implemented. :(

Alternativly you could have that deadbeats loose 5 points and those points are taken out of the CC system. This would help with the inflation problem and may even deter freestyle players who abuse the 2 round loophole.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

As much as I hate people who miss turns (I cant really say I hate the ones who intentionally run out of time, because I am one of those), this is not the solution.
the idea of letting somebody miss 3 turns before getting kicked out, is that everybody can miss a turn once in a while. So you should not punish anyone for losing one turn.

For deadbeaters, you could however increase the punishment (which is currently that they lose the game and lose points to the winner), to losing points to the winner AND losing 5 extra points that are taken out of the system like gimil says.

I was about to suggest that myself when i read the first post. I think this is actually a very good idea.

not if you are in a doubles game, if you deadbeat in a doubles game and your partner still wins you get the points for it!

Still, I wouldn't mind paying everyone in the game one point each time I miss a turn. You'd still be able to miss turns, and it wouldn't cripple your score (you'd recover to your normal almost as quickly as you would if you never missed) but it'd be nice to be able to do something for the waiting players, other than say "Sorry for the miss."

Also, I wouldn't limit it to just opposing players. You should have to pay one point to your teammates as well if you miss a turn.

Actually I was the one that suggested it back in April in this similar thread...

Let up on people who miss turns already.

People don't like to lose the game and thus they don't like to miss turns. It just happens. People have LIVES. And they screwed when they do miss turns because of the way the deferred army system works (btw, I agree with the pre-reinforcement deployment, just not the method of calculating the troops to be deployed).

It's fine. It's harsh enough as it is.
