Who here watches Lost???
Okay............Any thoughts on the season's final episode???? I'm not sure I actually had any questions answered but I am positive I now have many more questions floating around in my head.
Sadly we will all now have to wait until NEXT YEAR to find out what happens. At least I taped the finale, and most of the last season, that may hold me over.
I swear by all that is holy to me if ABC cancels this show prior to it's conclusion I will,...... well alas I digress.
Any thoughts??? Such as Who in the hell is Jacob???
At least the season ended with a "bang".

Re: Who here watches Lost???
I have watched it religiously since the beginning, actually it's the one and only thing that I still watch on tv.
Next season should be good with all of the reveals and all. I am also looking forward to quitting tv completely.
In case you are wondering what Richard said when he was asked the question "what lies in the shadow of the statue"
he answered "ille qui nos omnes servabit"
which translates into "he who will save us all"

Re: Who here watches Lost???
thanks for the translation.
I agree the ending "appeared" to be the bomb going off...but I immediately thought right beyond that...maybe it was actually another time travel slide.....those were always bright flashes of light....

Anything that keeps Juliet alive... She is my favorite character on that show.

An acid-trip is less confusing.

Duane: You know what they say about love and war.
Tim: Yes, one involves a lot of physical and psychological pain, and the other one's war.

Thanks Demon.......I don't have captions on my VCR
But now the way the guy interacted with Jacob at the start of the show leads me to believe they are supposed to be like incarnations of good and evil. Anyone think Jacob is going to wind up being god?

So did I...or wait, I am again after last night's episode, right?
Anyway, a friend of mine from Pennsylvania put out the idea that the other guy (not Jacob) might be Esau. If anyone has read Genesis, you'll remember the story of Jacob and Esau. Then there's the whole element of Claire's son being named Aaron (brother of Moses). I don't buy into it, but was fascinated by the idea nonetheless.

well... then there is Jack's father... whose name is christian. Now, my friends have theorized, and I think they are right, that he is also Esau (for lack of a name) since Jacks dad was dead also upon arriving to the island. That would mean that Jack's dad really is dead, and has been all along.

And was the circle of ash meant to contain Jacob??
It all looked very supernatural.

nope... I think that it was to contain Easu... remember that it was Christian that Locke saw in that cabin before?

Oh yeah and in the episode where he first went to the cabin with Ben I distinctly remember him looking curiously at the ash then brushing at it with his foot, experimentally not maliciously.

Re: Who here watches Lost???
jacob is clearly a time traveler from the far future attempting to change one of the variables in the equation that predicts when mankind will die out. the island is similarly full of -- or is -- this future's technology. "Esau" is a traveler trying to stop Jacob (though he may not have been trying to stop him from the outset of their mission).

Can't really prove you wrong... but... the ship that Jacob first saw is probably the Black Rock, and my wife believes that Richard and the Hispanic lady that captured Sayid (and likely the 4 who carried Lock's real body) are crew from that ship seen on the sea in the opening sea.

Very interesting theory, and the island itself might be the time machine.
I was thinking they were from an ancient culture, that had many lost technologies. Perhaps even Atlantians.

Is it actually even possible to jump into the show now and understand what the hell is going on?

I've never been much of a theorist either, but now we have to wait over 6 months for more answers so my mind begins to wander, and wonder.
