- the mini map added.. but something doesn't seem right with it.. :?
-more canoes

I like the mini-map, although you are right it seems tio evoke a feeling something is wrong with it but I also cannot put a finger on it.

I like the canoe graphics but they seem to get lost in the map for me. Maybe because the mountains are the same color. If you could find a way to make them call out to you a little more that might help.

Overall I love the idea of this map, and your presentation is very good.

LOVE the map, but it needs to be called Native NORTH America - as none of South America (which had its fair share of Native tribes) is not represented.

I think it would be cool to see South America here too, but if you can't include both, maybe it could be a pair of maps?

I'd like the idea of a Native North America map paired with a Native South America map... :)

Perhaps something to consider, Tisha, if this map continues to gather interest and you feel up for it. :)

Good work thus far on creating a unique map.

Awesome map. Only suggestion is to make the impossibles more thick and noticeable.

I would recommend not making a territory that is separate from the rest of its continent like in the arctic continent.

I think what feels odd about the mini map is the numbers - they don't look ancient enough for me. and it's odd to see a smaller map that's the same next to a large map on an old scroll because you wouldn't see that on anything that old. The first one - see if you can find numbers that look a little more worn. The second - you can't help that, and if that's all that's bugging people, they'll get over it fast.

and i'm probly missing something else if no one else could put their fingers on it, so keep thinking about it

EDIT: i agree completely with the previous comment. That terit in the arctic continent that's not bordering the rest of the continent NEEDS to be connected to the rest of the continent. All it would take is a simple ocean route, or an extension of the length of one of those terits.

Hey could you put names in the oceans.
The words and numbers should be in an older looking type
Could you put hawaii in?

re. names of oceans: you mean the names attributed by the Europeans? That wouldn't make sense.
re. font: this one is fine, but you could play around with it.
re. hawaii: I'm not sure the polynesians had much contact with north america - certainly not enough to be waging war across the pacific (or whatever they called that ocean).

Tisha - This is truly an impressive map! The graphics are top-notch and I look forward to seeing this progress soon!
This was my first look at it, as I've been away from the foundry for quite awhile.
Your mountains are great and the parchment gives it a sense of antiguity.
Way to go! =D> =D> =D>

very nice map
i didn't read all the thread (at all  )
but here are some of my comments
if saying river is impassable then you have to add mountains
does the groups of tribes have any "global" name, it should be added to minimap
nimiipuu / salish bonus should be lowered to +1, it's only 2 territories
it would be better if you find a way to put the few diagonal names in horizontal

good work keep going on
De gueules à la tour d'argent ouverte, crénelée de trois pièces, sommée d'un donjon ajouré, crénelé de deux pièces
Gules an open tower silver, crenellated three parts, topped by a apertured turret, crenellated two parts

i think sometimes people say some very funny things because they don't read the thread, but when a bunch of ppl don't it gets annoying. You, my apologetic poster, have successfully made an intelligent post without reading the thread. Well done. Here is my response to your comments (and i could be wrong, feel free to tell me if i am):
i thought there were mountains (see calif. area)
i'm not sure what you mean by a global name, could you please elaborate? (though if Tisha understands, then this isn't necessary, sorry)
and if both of those terits can be attacked from outside the bonus area, then i would hope i'd get enough reinforcements to put one on each border, or at least something close! i wouldn't want to hold a bonus area that didn't give me the resources i need to defend it!! (though, personally i always advocate bonus areas that are easy to hold with decently high bonus armies, maybe it's just my play style.

and yeah, i agree, it's great work, keep it up!

thanks for the posts guys..

he means put mountains in the non-passable part of the map (legend)

i think i understand what he means by global.. like the regions (arctic, subarctic, plains) but it doesn't matter, i don't like the minimap. i have been working with the colors, trying to make them distinguishable..

and i have been told before that the salish bonus should be one because someone might drop it.. how rare would that be? :|
