That's true to a degree, but some points are lost. When a team wins an odd number of points, I believe 1 is subtracted each time so the score divides evenly. Over all the team games played, that probably adds up to a fair amount of points lost, but its close to players*1000

It's no where close to players * 1000. There are so many people who have joined the site, deadbeated a game, and never returned. If I had to take a guess, I'd say the points are about players * 1150
Partner gets points for deadbeating?
if my partner totally quits on me and never plays a turn, (doubles game of course), why does he get half the points still?

Points for Deadbeats
Is there any chance we can do anything about the points awarded for team games? can they be shared only by the participating members of that team.
Triples my 2 partners deadbeated and were kicked out = 47 points each
They are all mine and i dont want to share them

Damn, thats a good win!
I have mixed feelings about this idea though, I like it because you did in fact do all the work and should get all the points. Deadbeats suck, and they shouldn't be rewarded.
But.... they did give you their armies when they deadbeated and that was what helped you win. So technically, you would have lost if you hadn't gotten those territories and then you would have lost points instead of gaining 47.
I think this idea has already been rejected though.

Agreed

agreed, but the deadbeaters shouldn't get them either.
shared points with deadbeat doubles partners
I suggest that if a partner in a doubles or triples match is eliminated due to three missed turns they should then forfeit any points gained if the remaining partner(s) win the game. I just defeated a colonel, a lieutenant, and two sergeants after my deadbeat partner left me high and dry and handicapped in the beginning of the game, and after I did all of the hard work to win, he gets 57 points just the same as I. I don't believe that is fair, and propose that it be fixed.

Deadbeat Partners
In game # 180305, my partner deadbeated. The game was a six person doubles game. I somehow managed to win, despite the four others were against me. The Deadbeating didn't help much, since he was all but eliminated, so I got very few of his men from it. The point is, he got 30 pts for the win as well as I. That is stupid. He didn't take one turn. I did all the work, I should get all the pts. Even if your deadbeat partner leaves you tons of men, they shouldn't get a point, if they deadbeat. They shouldn't lose any either. I propose that if your partner deadbeats in a Doubles game, and you win, you get ALL of the points awarded, and in a triples game, the deadbeat gets nothing, while the pts are split between the other two, if they won. This way a person is rewarded for winning on their own, while the deadbeat isn't rewarded, or even punished. You should NOT be rewarded for deadbeating if your partner wins.
