Maybe we should look in the mirror and really think about who's the slow one in this thread.

And you were expecting Bush to have a 90% approval rating after 6 years of being bashed by the loony left and the liberal media? I'm surprised he's even on the radar. Does that mean he is a bad president? No. Just like Clinton's approval rating didn't make him a good president.

Well, yes, it does. I'm surprised you think a bunch of loonies, pinkos and commies could have such a massive effect on Dubya's popularity. Either the loonies are actually in charge or bush is more useless than anyone thought.

Hmmm if memory serves me well Bush was re-elected. Therefore the majority of voters (dare I say Americans) wanted to KEEP him in office.

Unfortuantely that is very true. However, if he hadnt been re-elected, British satirical TV programmes would lose their main cannon fodder. But I guess at least Bush is just stupid, unlike Blair, who is untrustworthy.

So you are saying the majority of Conservative Republicans are easily swayed lemmings? How else can you explain the mass defection?

jay_a2j wrote:Does that mean he is a bad president?

Well, since a President's report card is the opinionof The American People...I would say "Yes" he is.

Hmmm, lets see. No wars, huge economic growth, lowest unemployment in 30 years, lowest inflation since the 60's, highest home ownership on record, dramatically lowered deficit...Yup. He was awful.

Well at least he didn't have to cheat his way in the second time, that's true. it was also 2 and a half years ago. He's squandered most of that support since then (dare i say thinking people), apparently

Usually, I'm on your side, Backglass...this case being the first exception..
Now, I'm far from a Bush fan, but in my opinion, Clinton's only success was having enough charm to sway the idiot masses away from his many failures...indulge me, if you have the time--how exactly did Clinton spur huge economic growth? What did he definitively do to ensure that inflation was low and that home ownership would be at its pinnacle? From my end of the spectrum, he was simply in the right place at the right time. Let's see...Los Alamos...now there was something to be proud of (notice how little was made of this astronomically huge event)...convenient how the investigation into that little alleged debacle he had--you know--taking campaign contributions from a foreign government (China) never truly came to fruition...hey..ever look at who exactly he pardoned in the last few months of his presidency? What a generous guy...No, you're right--Clinton was a man's man...one hell of a President--at least according to the ridiculously low standards that we, for some unknown reason, seem to be content with today...If you get time, Backglass, we can even discuss how Clinton's Presidency directly affected our military's ability to prepare for war--I suppose that given his cowardice in past wars, we should expect no less...but still...

Lets see... the economy is still chugging along. Lets not forget the Republican takeover of the House and Senate in 1994 (wonder if that had anything to to with "Clinton's economy"). Now that the Dem's are in control of the House and Senate, look for the economy to collapse under the weight of higher taxes.
