You have a simple and straightforward map here, both grapgically and gameplay wise. Its always nice when we get those types.

The most major concern I hold just now are those city/mountains images you have used don't fit your map at all. I would suggest you stick with some plain coloured deadland and create a more exciting title to fill the space.

Overall thou I would say keep up the good work, nice to see another new face in the foundry!

What if I did something like this?

[bigimg]http://www.atomation.com/~thazzard/fun/gva/mar5c.jpg[/bigimg]

It seems most maps use a logo or emblem in the title. The most appropriate logo would be Metro Vancouver's, since the map is of 13 cities in Metro Vancouver, and not only Vancouver itself.

I'll see if I can find something more interesting than that. I don't particularly like it as it is.

Hey, it was worth a shot!

And I'm not sure about copyrights on symbols? I stole it from wikipedia, but probably wasn't supposed to.

I disagree with gimil, the city and mountains looked great and fit in nicely seeing as they are the only non-plain element, they do not have to be the same style as anything else.

Surrey's colour changed, was too close to Langley.

I like it very much so far. Perhaps Willowbrook could be called "Langley City" instead?

Make the whole map have the mountains background and remove that symbol next to Vancoouver. Nice map!
Also make the ships wheel a different color, white does not fit

Not sure if New West should be an autodeploy...personally I'd just make it worth a bonus of 1.

EDIT: And perhaps rename "Skytrain" to "Expo Line"...since technically the Canada Line is part of the Skytrain system too.

Otherwise this map is coming along stunningly!

Cheers,

As they are the only non plain elements, it looks to me like a design inconsistancy. I am not arguing that the images are well done but they still to me don't fit with this map. Also i my experience it is easier to put a little simple on detail but not vice versa.

I had New West as a +1 bonus and people thought an autodeploy would be better. It will be very hard to hold either way. Was it better as a bonus and not autodeploy?

Mountains .. I'm getting votes in both directions. reduced 50%. Maybe they're better when they're quieter?

Langley City - changed.
Expo Line - changed.
Boat wheel - how's light grey, then? Makes it different from the plane.
Symbol - It draws the eyes to the "Vancouver", but it's rather unnecessary. Unless we really think a symbol of some sort is needed? Perhaps there is another we like better, or perhaps we like this one.

The delineation between Port Moody and Westwood Plateau is not really clear.

Could you move the Belcarra label above its dot, and move the Port Moody label to where Belcarra was, with Port Moody label actually touching its dot?

It looks great, I'm looking forward to playing as soon as possible!

Man the downtown station is going to be hard to hold with all three lines needing it for bonus!

That makes the game play that much more interesting..... If one was smart they would secure that depot at the very beginning of the drop and build on it from there.

General Bradley - Thank you for your input, I had not noticed that problem in the Tri-Cities! Looking at it now, I see very clearly how one could think Port Moody was Westwood and vice versa.

As much as I'd like to have an NYC-esque transit system on the map, this is just the nature of Vancouver. All transit points to Downtown Vancouver, and any other routes are insignificant.

How's this?

I like the redrawn border on Langley City now too...the triangle territory on the previous versions was a bid odd.
