Samurai vs. Bear!
Who would win?
EDIT: I guess I have to make the circumstances clearer.
Yes, it is a grizzly bear.
No, the samurai does not have a bow or arrow.
Yes, the US Constitution grants the right to arm bears. HAHAHA DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK COCKS!

Re: Samurai vs. Bear!
If the Samurai didn't win, then we'd probably get some thing like this.

Or this.

Yeah, that one.

Or this.

Yeah, that one.

Surely we've campaigned enough to give bears arms.

I am confused. Are you implying that it's right to arm bears?

I'm saying we should bear the right arms.

It's quite simple really. Bears are armed by their arms.
Also, Samurai

if you like that, you should really read Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials series. interesting stuff, lots of ridiculous battles like that one. polar bears vs. witches vs. angels vs. gypsies vs. zombies vs. zeppelins. yes, that really happens. and it still manages to have a truly riveting plot.

Um......ever contemplate attacking a bear with a three foot knife? It would be a contest of power, not skill and grace. Your swordsman would be on the ground in 15 seconds, and opened like a can of tuna in 30.
Reality Check!

Bear market gets samurai laid off, samurai can't feed kids, doesn't fight anymore.
Bear market wins.
Bear market wins.

Re: Samurai vs. Bear!
mmm the bear is bigger, faster, stronger, and has more weapons. the samurai has mystical samurai powers and a pointy metal stick designed to cut down peasants.
but my money on the guy with fangs (unless the samurai is a vampire too...

Is the Samurai armed? Even if it isn't, the Bear will crush his skull before he can even draw it. GO BEAR!!!

The word Samurai means "to serve", as in the Shogunate. However during the tokugawa period, there were no major wars being fought, and thus no need for the Samurai. When a Samurai has no master, he is called a Ronin. Which is what you're thinking of when you speak of cutting down peasants. The Yakuza would often hire Ronin as henchmen and body guards to do their biding. Also, Samurai were not only swordsmen. They were also skilled archers, capable of hitting their target from horseback.
Re: Samurai vs. Bear!
John Hirsch killed a black bear with a 3 and 1/2 inch knife. There's really no question that a trained swordsman could kill a bear.
Re: Samurai vs. Bear!
The founder of Springfield killed a bear with his bare hands, why couldn't a samurai?
I do it because I can
I can because I want to
I want to because you said I couldn't

The founder of Springfield also had a silver tongue because his real one was ripped out by George Washington.
