Give me a little more time to give it a good look over, and we'll see where to go from there.

Hmmm. let me think.

No.

I'ts like, a whole continent. Dropping it from the map would make it a completly different map.

sry.

Well lets see, few things...

  • Honestly, I wasn't a fan of this map when you first started on it. But as usual, maps grow on me and I seem to like them more and more in time. This one is no exception.
  • I like the overall feel, but a few areas are odd. Take a look at the black railing. Is it supposed to look 'wavy' in certain parts? Also, it seems some of the shadows that the black railings cast don't quite look as nice as shadows in different areas.
  • Also, symmetry in names like Dan, Pat, Marv, Eve --- Adam, Bob, Dick, Jane. Notice how they are different? I like the stair steps on the left better.
  • Maybe swap Suki and Pat or Terry, so Sam and Suki aren't next to each other, minor thing.
  • Consider slightly moving Big Oil's name so it isn't so near the border. Also the same goes for Newsweek, S. Floor, West and East Security. I assume you made 'East/West Security' not abbreviations so people could easily distinguish from E. Floor and W. Floor?

Those are most of the minor things I see. It's coming along nicely!

Rails:
The wavyness is a result of the low resolution (300dpi). I can smooth it out.
I've used a dropshadow for the layer with the railings so the lightsource is from the top-left and all shadows in the opposite direction.
Can you specify whitch of the shadows are bugging you? and in what way?

Names:
Do you mean that Bob is a bit too far to the left?
Vertically the names should be symmetrical. Some are longer than others and thus creating an assymetrical feel. I could try adjusting them horizontally.

Swap:
no prob.

Abbreviations:
No, abbreviated W and E. Floor due to the limited space i have. Should I abbreviate the West and East Secury as well?

Name placement:
I can move the crowded ones. now prob.

Regarding the Bob...I think I glanced at the 'Old' version of the map. That's why I saw the right without the similar stair step.

I'm a big fan of this map, and I don't like seeing how far it has fallen on the first page of this thread. Beyond that looks good, want to see it final forged sometime.

Names: A few names Swapped/adjusted.
Rails: improved

And yes, all names on the small 600px-map are size boosted. Any larger and they start to clutter things up. Pity.

Regarding some crowding of names Vs details: It's a crowded map. Specifically the smaller one, so there's not much leeway there.
I can adjust things easily in the 800px one though. Noo problem.

I actually like that the small map is rather full, I can't really describe why but maybe it makes it more interesting and realistic?

Quick thing, on the large map, Marv and Eve aren't next to each other, like they are on the small map. :)
