there are some pokemon (partly) representing squirrels:

Squirtle, is has a name that is close to squirrel, it's a turtle tho but look at his tail, it's a squirrels tail.

sentret, actually a ferret i guess but still it's close to a squirrel (not in the 151 first season pokemon tho)

Pachirisu, electrical type pokemon based on a squirrel (not in the 151 first season pokemon either)
