new recruits and cooks

Post by bucs4846 »

my name is bucs4846 and i believe it would improve your deadbeat account ratio if there was a beginner level where new accounts (rookies or cooks) could play against each other without having to worry about higher ranks joining the games they are trying to play to learn the game and "raping" them of the points they dont even have yet. If a player of low rank chooses to join a game with higher ranks its their own fault but they should have a "safe haven" to at least get started on their way.

Hang in there, as you get better you will take out some higher rank players, and when you do you will get many, many more points that taking out someone at your rank.

There have been various options suggested to assist new members in that regard, but most of them are not as cut and dry to put together as some may think. I do however see that you have joined the Society of Cooks, which will be a great starting place to learn how to hold your own in your games. Welcome to CC, and good luck as long as you aren't playing me ;).

I kinda get your idea, sort of like what it dose on Halo and teams up players with similar ratings. I don't know if that would work here I mean half the people that are new recruits barely play. Just sign up and leave but I get your drift and it seems like a neat idea but maybe work on it a little. Maybe not just by ranks but full statistics also.

Part of the problem here is that ogten times a player joins specifically to play against a certain player. For instance, my brother, nephew, niece and son have all joined at various times and we play a number of "family" games which we wouldn't be able to do with these rules (well we would now but I questions how long they'd have stayed around if they couldn't play each other etc).
