BW's "In it to win it Tournament" [Winner: jerry111]

Post by BrotherWolf »

Welcome to my first effort at hosting a tournament. Hopefully this will be the first of many.

Information:

Number of Players: 32 (+3 reserves)

Prize:

Along with the everlasting glory of tournament champion, the tournament winner will get to choose 6 numbers to be entered into the UK's National Lottery. YES, this tournament could make you a millionaire!! (though the odds are 14,000,000:1 apparently).

Requirements and General Rules:

* Premium Membership required (4 games played at a time).
* Players have to join games in 48hrs (extended at weekends). After the deadline you'll receive a reminder and 24hrs to join or be replaced. After the first round a player will be replaced with the player with the highest points total not to qualify for that round.

Maps:

Players can choose their own map to play on. Players can also choose from the following settings:

Sequential or Freestyle
Standard or Terminator
Flat or Escalating (no spoils not allowed)
Adjacent, Chained or Unlimited
Foggy or Sunny

(Bonus points will be given or taken away depending on your performance on your chosen map. see below)

Gameplay:

Players will be randomly drawn into 8 groups of 4, though if two players have the same map I will move one.

First Round:
8 groups of 4 players. Players will consequtively play a game on each players map with points awarded for position (see below). The top two will go through.

Second Round:
4 groups of 4 players. As round 1

Semi Finals:
2 groups of 4 players. As round 1

Final:
Four Players. The winner of the Tournament will be the first to win two maps. This round will be played one map at a time. The first map will be the one used by the highest points scorer in the semi final with a count back to the previous round in the event of a tie. The second map will be whoever has the second highest points score from the semi finals etc......

In the event that the four maps result in four different winners then a winner takes all final game will take place. This will be on a map yet to be decided but will not be one chosen by the four finalists.

In the event of a tie in order to progress:
First Round: A playoff on a map used in the group but not by the participants.
Second Round: Count back to previous round, then playoff.
Semi Finals: Count back to previous round, then playoff.

Points:

In the group games the following points will be awarded

1st: 4 points
2nd: 2 points
3rd: 1 point
4th: 0 points

In addition the following bonus points will be awarded when playing on the map of your choice, if two players have chosen the same map you will only receive bonus points when playing on YOUR designated map.

1st: 2 points
2nd: 1 points
3rd: -1 point
4th: -2 points

To Enter:

Just post and choose your map with settings

Thanks to all those who have joined so far. A couple of you have chosen no spoils which unfortunately isn't an option. I'll send a PM asking if you'll change but thought I'd post here to remind anyone who wants to join.

I realized that this is where my heart is
Now is the time to finish what i started
Can't worry bout what other people might say
It's who i am
Gotta live my dream my own way

Work work it harder
Gotta take it farther
No holding back
You know we gotta do it right now
Be even better
Work work together
It's now or never
Show em how we shine we gotta

Push it push it to the limit limit
Cause we're in it to win it in it to win it

No time to stop
The champions are in the house
Yeah we can be
Winners 'cause we understand
Our destiny is right here in our hands

Work work it harder
Gotta take it farther
No holding back
We reachin for the sky now
Be even better
Work work together
It's now or never
Show em how we fly we gotta

Push it push it to the limit limit
Cause we're in it to win it in it to win it
Oh yeah

Push it push it to the limit limit
Give it all we can give it
We're in it to win it
Oh yeah

Gotta work it now
Work it out
We got it
Wanna hear the crowd
Everybody now
Gotta work it now
Work it out
Can't stop us
Gotta show them how
We gonna bring the house down

Push it push it to the limit limit
Cause we're in it to win it in it to win it
Let's go

Push it push it to the limit limit
Give it all we can give it
We're in it to win it
Oh yeah

Push it push it to the limit limit
Cause we're in it to win it in it to win it
Oh yeah

Push it push it to the limit limit
Give it all we can give it
We're in it to win it
