Hungria is an example where it's very easy to have it horizontal. So all of your names besides Rome and Napoli, and maybe Normandy should be horizontal. Put Corsica on the left side of the tert, Egypt and Tripoli inside the land. You can put england in the south where te whole thing will fit and the circle above it. I think your compass is wrong as well
Great job, that's all for now,

I changed the whole thing because of a few territories like burgundy and lombardia...Those two at least must stay this way.

I'd say the same thing but (besides the fact it should be 2px) the borders atm fit the map.Beko the Great wrote:the.killing.44 wrote:Graphically, I absolutely love this map. Alright, keep those if you must. But move the others around.

3 is too much in my opinion, I'll try two maybe.
If not correct the compass is at most 2 degrees out of position.

Normandy was at dispute by this time, by english and french, so I decided to put it in france, Holand was surely part of Holy Roman Empire.
But thanks to your coment I went search and find a complete map of Europe in 1100 wich will make me change a lot of things in this one

Are you going to these map be correct or not?
If you want to be correct then you need to research,to find all kingdom who exist in year 1100AD and put in map.

Don't be sorry! It's by change, things evolve.
The coolest thing (irony) is that all the maps I've seen from 1100 AD are diferent. One thing I must change is Reconquista line. By this time it was very much upper, and Portugal was just a County. Other thing I saw was Bulgaria was part of Byzantine (granting independence some years later) and the region that now is Holand was called Friesland by the time. Besides that, Maiorca was the Emirate of Baleares, than, Islamic and Orkney were independent from Scotland.
I'll just see what I can make with all this mess.

It really has a greater look now...with the names of the regions more straight! I preferred, though, when you had smoother lines, it was less exagerated!

Looks great!
i like your initial development.
If you like to add some territories this links could be useful
http://www.silab.it/storia/as19/images/as19p13b.jpg (sorry for italian names, if you need help with translation send me a PM
)
http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/maps/1090map.htm (the map is clickable)
crusader is nice, well done.
the christ image is good too, perhaps it changed a bit the continents colors in legend.
you didn't wrote the "+" in the line hold rome+ jerusalem+any (so seems to be a value of -1)
Italy is different in that ages : Venezia is indipendent from holy roman empire. Obviously you can't rappresent all the territories, italy was divided in many territories in that ages http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f4/Italia_1000_v2.svg
maiorca could be linked with sardinia...
anchors is good to indicate ports, but another graphical look (like ship) ?
i'm agree with aline_Cedrac, the lines are too heavy, and it makes difficult to read some territory names.
Anyways, good work
i think you'll be advanced in few time.

I know the Italian situation by the time and it's so complex I decided to ignore it a bit... And as you may my map is kinda based in this: http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/maps/1090map.htm And in this map even Corsica and Sardinia are part of Holy Roman Empire. Hmm I think the anchor is good. Thanks for all your comments! I'm actualy adding a lot of changes:
- Normandia will be part of British Isles (since it was under England control);
- Baleares will be Emirate of Baleares, then, part of Islamic Spain;
- Borders will change (my mistake) please check previous versions.
Grazzie!

Re: Europe 1099 - The 1st Crusade (V6 - Pg. 1&4 Please comment!)
So here is V6!
[bigimg]http://www.filefreak.com/pfiles/76801/europe1100v6.jpg[/bigimg]
Gameplay Changes:
Number of Territories = 62 - 60 starting positions: (which can be divided by 2,3,4,5 and 6).
Historical Accuracy (won't change regions no more, these are the ones who satisfy Historical Accuracy/Gameplay/Graphics rate).
Some "continent" bonus varied due to territory number changes.
Graphic Changes:
Borders width and style
Slight color changes.
Enjoy! And Keep giving your feedback!
P.S.: Thank you very much for the stamp, Mr. Benn!

EDIT: Another point i thought of is it fair Rome has a +1 autodeploy seeing as it only has two borders? i agree it should've a bonus but maybe give it more borders or something

Rome borders 3 regions: Lombardy, Napoli and Venice
I think it's good this way...
Cheers!

oh yeh hard to see Venice connection any way to alter it to make it mor obvious but yh it's fair if it's +1 and 3 borders

I like the alterations with colouring and borders, it makes a big difference to the previous version.
Plus, I agree re. the auto-deploy on Rome. Adds a touch extra to the gameplay and certainly perferable to a 2 bonus on some maps for 2 adjacent territories.
Just two minor details worth asking about: (1) Is there anything you could do with the sahara desert area below Tripoli? (2) In Magreb, might it look slightly better without the border on the left edge of the map (other territories going up to the edge of the map dont have a border line along the edge)?
Great work
