Well, to be precise, he didn't 'represent' Symantac, I think they would have pretty major issues with that statement in a Court. He purported to represent is more to the point.

The other worrying issue this raises is the level of gullability of someone who would actually believe this so called Head of Security is actually that!

My previous statement was meant to be facetious.

Anyhow, bravo to you sir. This is the point I was trying to make. While I barely know Jeff Hardy, he introduced me in his MSN conversation to JCKing who also began making allegations about "hacking" and whatnot. My point of contention, both in this thread and the MSN conversations, has been the alarming trend of giving your password out to other CC players both in your clan and others you "know". I tested this in the MSN conversation with the above inference and JCKing willingly provided me with his password and he admitted giving his password out to others on CC. He doesnt know me either in real life or on CC and had never had a MSN conversation with me previously. As in this thread, I also told him that I was not who I had inferred I was and in future to not give his CC password or any other password for that matter to ANYONE. Many allegations like this one, of "hacking" and account misrepresentation, would become less common if others didnt have access to your account.

precisely... to me, hacking on CC equates, "i gave my password to someone i don't really know/trust and they either abused it or passed it on to someone else, and i'm pissed." however, in this case, it seems as if clan members were involved, and now "the hacker" is being used to deflect attention away from a clan on CC that is already under scrutiny by the powers that be and the CC public at large!!! you would think that once you get your entire clan thrown into a C&A thread that has obvious traction/merits, you might try to cool the jets of the members causting trouble. i know and like many of the people in TNT, they are really fun guys and very proud of their clan. however, there is a new element in that clan that is not above doing this exact sort of thing... i think the answer is for TNT to clean house and for people to be hyper vigilant with their passwords. everyone that has my password i have known in real life or on CC for at over a year, and in some cases 12-20 years. i recommend handling your password like you would the key to your house... period... sorry this is happening to jeff, he is a fun guy to banter about with in the forums and PM's, and of course fun to play. but the solutions seem very simple to me... and i hope twill puts an end to this now that he is involved...-0

As long as you don't give out your password, your account will be safe.

no they can't. they need to have your password first. If you're referring to what happened in this case, what happened is Jeff gave his pw to Lanyards, who then gave it to Maxatstuy, who then changed the account's email address so that he could "retrieve" the password when it was changed. The moral of the story is, don't give your password to untrustworthy people.

There has not been a single (publicly) reported case on CC of someone's account being "hacked" without the "hacker" knowing their pw.

Why would someone want to hack YOUR account? Even if they could, but yes, they would have to get your original password.

What the f*ck do you know about anything? I would never give somebody else's password to anybody, especially not banned members. I wouldn't do this to anyone, especially clanmates and friends. A ton of people trust me with sitting, and I do trust them back, so why in hell would I do this? Jeff has my password, I am not worried about him going in my account and messing up stuff. Watch were you point your finger, I am tired of defending myself, but I will aslong as I am innocent.

Nothing about what you are talking about. You always find some way to accuse me of everything, and I hate it, please stop.

If you would stop trying to skirt the rules at every opportunity, perhaps people would stop accusing you of doing so. As it stands now, you are part of a small group who seem to think the rules don't apply to you, and react quite harshly when anyone tries to tell you otherwise.

Grow up. Play by the rules.

The deja vu feeling came from a previous time when max used to say much the same thing.

Max was never banned from breaking the rules, and if you want to ban me for being an arse, do so. But don't accuse me of cheating.
