One more note...I plan to run a college hoops season each year and I always give the players that finish out the previous season first chance to return as their team the following year. So if you want back in next year, you can send me a quick note. But I'll also pm all of this year's players a couple weeks before starting the 2009-10 season to see if you want to return.

thanks for playing everyone, and best of luck as we head into the elimination season :)

Unless you get upset in the conference tourney like I (Kansas State) did...now that #1 seed is at, well, RISK

I think you meant "higher seed". The lower the number, the higher the seed and the advantage of home court, right?

I second Rainman's applause for another great tournament run and regardless how the tournaments play out, I'd love to return.

I cosign my A10 buddy Lostatlimbo's post. Absolutely greatly run tourney. Would love to do it again next year (or be informed of any other tourneys you may be running in the future). I suppose I should get back to coaching though, to make sure Lostatlimbo doesn't pull off the quaterfinal upset on me ;) :-$

Brackets to be updated Monday night...games going out as available.
Still have four regular season games to wrap up then everyone should be seeing action in the conference tourneys.

Also...note that I'm giving players 72 hours to join their tourney games or I'll consider it a forfeit, so if you're a freemium keep a slot open, and if you're going on vacation just give me a heads up and we can work something out.

thanks, flex

I have finished my last ACC game putting me in a three way tie for 2nd. My record is 3-1 against the other teams I am tied with and they are each 2-2 so I believe according to the ACC policy this gives me the # 2 seed in the ACC tourney.

Just to avoid any confusion...I never know how to refer to the seeds high or low, which is better.

Anyway for purposes of the tourneys, the better seeded team will get the home court advantage when appropriate.

Updated brackets will go up tonight, I just went through results and only three regular-season games remain active...Once those are finished I'll post the final standings.

Hey Flex! Just a suggestion (and hopefully you were already thinking of doing so) but I would really like to see a "play-in" game for the 64th spot in the NCAA tourney to see who gets that last spot... like they do in the real thing.

No opinion as to who exactly gets to be those two teams (biggest bribes given), but what do you think? : )

Yes...I added the "play-in" game, even though I think it's stupid and should be disbanded...they do it in the NCAAs, so it has been added here (see last bracketology update)...the playin game will be between the final two at-large teams to make the field out of the lowest RPI leagues...in this case the WAC and A10 (I believe)

So we'll have 65 teams in the NCAA field and 32 in the NIT.

Right on the heels of the real UVM team blowing out BU to tie for first in the America East Conference, Plash Ricrem's Vermont squad declares itself ready for the big dance, advancing to the A10 semifinals with a 9 round victory over Xavier (4221608). Plash Ricrem didn't have much to say after the game, noting he was going out drinking, to celebrate, but commented that his team was able to use its zone defense effectively and spread the ball the ball around to come away with the W. "I'd like to congratulate coach LostatLimbo on a fine season and hope that his team is able to sneak into the dance. They are a quality opponent and I wish them nothing but success the rest of the way."

Not much change today, so new brackets will go up late Thursday night.
We have 2 regular season games getting near a finish, and all new available tournament games have been sent via pm.

And yes, it's true, flex has lost in the Big Sky semifinals

Hey cougfan...I don't really know at this point...I'd guess you'd be a bubble team for the NIT...that probably doesn't help you much. It will be at least another week before those tourneys will be ready to go anyway, so if you have an available spot by then it should be fine.

Coach Limbo had little to say after Xavier lostin the quarterfinals of the A10 tournament, but to congratulate his opponents on the win.

"Its been an up and down season and it stings a bit to lose in the quarters when it looked like the team was finally gelling, but we couldn't have lost to a more disciplined opponent and a classy coach at that. Vermont came out fast and hard and we couldn't keep up tonight. I think we focused a bit too much on covering their star players (loading up on the Maritimes to prevent a bonus) and let the rest of the team go nuts on us. I gotta give credit to my players for hanging in there, but we weren't hitting our 3s (cashed only once for +4) and couldn't seem to force enough turnovers to make a difference. I don't know where we stand in tournament contention, but I wish Ricrem and his team the best of luck."
