I'm all for Seige 2, great map, definitely my favourite so far.
Need more maps that focus on small scale battles, I know conquer the world sound more exciting but small maps like this one are where it's at. Graphics are really good and so is the gameplay.

I just bumped this to raise a point about the +1 bonus of the Throne. The immediate advantage provided by holding the Throne largley puts me off of playing this map. If the Throne were set to be neutral at the beginning of the game then it wouldn't affect any existing games. Hell, it could even be a neutral drop of 2 if you think that an imposing neutral 3 would make the Throne + Great hall bonus pair obsolete.

PLEASE add a first character to the name of each territory, for exemples; S1 for Swamp-1, M1 for Midlands-1, P1 for Plains-1 and so ...

It's to easy to make mistake, i'm on my first game on this map and i made some bad deployment and reinforcement.

And no, i'm not colorblind

I like this map very much, and I would love to see a Siege II be developed. On that note here is my stab at the graphics for the sequel. It is not fine tuned, but hopefully it will show enough uniqueness to be able to stand apart, but still carry the Siege flag. I only mocked up the graphics, so the gameplay is wide open. Possible additions could be a couple of Viking longboats and maybe some sort of siege engine.

Thank you very much RJ.
I would love to work on this project. However, I think that mibi should be in charge of it. Our history is not that great, so I do not know if he would be willing. But if he is, I will be more than glad to get to work as soon as I see some gameplay worked out. :D

I hope that you will be involved, and offer your feedback. :D

I just recently played this map for the first time, first in a 1v1, then in an 8v8, on the 1v1, throne started neutral, so I didn´t think much of it, but then on the 8v8 someone started with that +1 bonus, now since it´s an escalating 8-player game, it basically doesn´t matter, but I think the map would be more balanced and it would make more sense if Throne always started neutral.

What does the community think about coding the XML so that the Throne is coded to be a starting neutral and not included in the random allocation of territories?

And Texan Wars. I will post in the Montreal thread too, see what people think. Any other maps you can think that have this problem?

Malta - Valetta. Same situation as the first three mentioned
Madness - Dog House
WWII Gazala - Free French

There are a few that might be able to use a tweak with 2-territ bonuses.

The throne starts as neutral 3 every time for automatic troops.

I am not 100% sure what you are going for with this thread. If you are suggesting a change to the map you need to post that in the Map Thread itself. A note though, maps typically aren't changed once they have left the beta phase without a lot of support.

He is suggesting it should start neutral. Which makes sense.

humm didn't understand it that way, he is saying that it always starts neutral, so it seems to be a problem for him? i hate that bloody map by the way, 100% loss on it with incredibly unfair dice each time.

I agree with MoB's interpretation... either way its an extremely lazy way to go about things.
