Prime's Singles Championship II
Prime's Singles Championship II
Formerly known as Prime's Singles Season
**PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS TOURNAMENT**
**GRAND PRIZE: 1 YEAR PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP**
Set-Up:
The tournament will feature 36 players playing in 6 divisions that will be determined at the beginning of the tournament by player score. The divisions will be: Premier Division, Elite Division, Master Division, Challenger Division, Standard Division, and Lower Division. Each division will have a total of 6 players.
All games will be: 6-player/Sequential/Escalating/Chained/No Fog
Gameplay:
There will be three rounds of play as detailed below. Within each round the games will be played in "Cycles." At the end of each cycle the top two players from each division will be promoted up one division, and the bottom two players will be relegated down one division. This should allow for a good mixture of opponents and prevent opponent burnout as the tournament progresses.
The standings will be determined by wins. However, the standings will also show how often a player finishes 2nd and 3rd, allowing for tie-breakers as necessary. Finishes of 4th, 5th, or 6th place will not be reflected in the standings but may be used to determine tie-breakers as necessary. At the beginning of each "Cycle" the record for each player will be reset, but their overall record for the entire tournament will be kept on a separate set of "Overall Standings" which will determine who qualifies for the next round of play.
The overall standings will be reset at the end of each round. Both sets of standings will be displayed at all times here in the tournament thread. You are encouraged to bookmark this thread and refer to it often.
All games will be given 50 rounds to finish. If a game goes past 50 rounds then the BOB Strength Analysis will be used to determine order of finish, and we will move on with the tournament.
Various maps will be used throughout the tournament (see below). Some maps will be repeated, others will not. Each "cycle" will be made up of mostly classic-style maps, with one or two gimmick/non-traditional maps thrown in. This is to allow for a mixture of playing styles to be successful.
First Round (3 Cycles — 24 games):
Each division will play three cycles of 8 games. The next cycle of 8 games will not start until all games are complete from the previous set. At the conclusion of all 24 First Round games, the top 18 players in the overall standings will advance to the Second Round. The divisions will be mixed at the end of each cycle as well.
Cycle 1 Maps: Classic Shapes, BeNeLux, Great Lakes, Ireland, Puget Sound, Triple Alliance, Age of Merchants, Rail Europe
Cycle 2 Maps: Classic Shapes, British Isles, Charleston, Netherlands, Italy, Iceland, Age of Realms: Might, Feudal War
Cycle 3 Maps: Classic Shapes, USA, Germany, South America, Extreme Global Warming, North America, Age of Realms: Magic, Draknor - Level 1
Second Round (2 Cycles — 16 games):
Each division will play two cycles of 8 games (given to them all at once). The next cycle of 8 games will not start until all games are complete from the previous set. At the conclusion of all 16 Second Round games, the top 6 players in the overall standings will advance to the Final Round. The divisions will be mixed at the end of each cycle as well.
Cycle 4 Maps: Classic Shapes, Soviet Union, Siege!, Iberia, Scotland, Sydney Metro, Age of Realms: Mayhem, Battle of Actium
Cycle 5 Maps: Classic Shapes, USA, Canada, 8 Thoughts, Montreal, WWII Europe, Waterloo, Dustbowl
Second Round (3 Cycles — 12 games):
Each division will play three cycles of 4 games (given to them all at once). The next cycle of 4 games will start as soon as all games are active from the previous set. At the conclusion of all 12 Final Round games, the top player in the standings will be crowned tournament champion.
Cycle 6 Maps: Classic Shapes, Charleston, Midgard/Centerscape, Middle East
Cycle 7 Maps: Classic Art!, USA, Europe, High Seas
Cycle 8 Maps: Rail USA, Feudal War, Treasures of Galapagos, WWII Ardennes
