Show Current Server Time On Every Page

Post by tarman2010 »

Description
  • Just like the title says, put a clock somewhere on every page that shows the current time. It does not need to be constantly running; it only needs to show the time the page was loaded. I think the top center of the page would be the best place for it, but as long as it's easily findable, it wouldn't matter.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • This will make it easier to determine when an opponent was last online or last made a move by giving the player the current time without having to go to the main page of the forums/
  • Players will no longer have to remember how far ahead or behind their timezone is compared to the server time. This can be really confusing if a player's location does not do time changes or if a player is not certain whether or not the server time is affected by time changes

I'm not a coder, so I'm not sure how hard this would be to add to each page. However, seeing as how the main page of the forums shows the current time, I don't think it would be hard to transfer the code for that clock to other pages.

If a player makes a post, it has a timestamp. Every action in any game has a timestamp. The player's profile has a Last visited time. Just set your profile to the correct timezone, and you can see every action a player does on the forum, at the time they made it in your timezone.

By the way, players have up to 24 hours to take their turns, so make sure you aren't stalking them just to get them to take a turn.
