I hear ya!
It's still cool to talk about though. Perhaps you could start a thread about Australian tv sometime.
Ahahahahaha! Oh where do i start?
Well I'm sure our British friends would be well aware of such 'quality' programming such as 'Neighbours' and 'Home & Away' - but i think the unfortunate truth is that majority of our prime time viewing is filled up with American TV shows.
I don't watch much TV anyway, so i'm not that worried
NORM!!!!!!!!!!How's it going? It's a dog eat dog world out there.........and my underwear is made of bonemeal
Seinfeld for sure too.........Hello NNNeeewman
Think the Simpsons beat out the Flintstones for longest animated sitcom , but The Jetsons rocked too
I don't think that's true. I think the Simpsons still have a while before that happens.
Although Wiki is never the best source: The Simpsons is the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program and as of 2008 is tied with Gunsmoke as the longest running American primetime television series. Homer's annoyed grunt "D'oh!" has been adopted into the English lexicon, while The Simpsons has influenced many adult-oriented animated sitcoms.

I'm pretty sure they made it worse by ending the season (actually, the whole show) with 'the-whole-season-was-a-dream-and-they-never-won-the-lotto-and-Dan-actually-died-at-the-end-of-the-previous-season-from-a-heart-attack-at-Becky's-wedding'

I didn't know that (long stopped watching by then) - but that does make it worse.
Don't know if this is considered an "American Sitcom", but it is on cable as a sitcom...Dead Like Me, and it was just released as a Movie...Freaking funny, and sad, check it out: http://www.watch-movies.net/movies/dead ... ter_death/

Dead Like Me rocked... I have all of them on DVD... Don't know if I'd call it a sitcom, though.

It vies with seinfeld and arrested development for the title. The latter leapfrogged almost every other US sitcom ever made in its 2 and a half series. Hell even seinfeld came close to being dropped.
But Seinfeld has to take the crown! It HAS to!
(was someone actually serious about the cosby show?)
