Best video game ever?

Post by brooksieb »

Grand theft Auto: San Andreas - Set in 92'. When i first got it it blew my breath away to think how big the map is and after i had played it for a year i was still finding out secrets for the game and can surpass even games being released presently, I could even go as far as to say it is still competition for saints row 2, the only drawback to the game is that there is no proper online features.

I thought i'd give fallout 3 a mention here because i'm currently loving the size of the map and quests you can do on it, i've been playing it for days ad i've only discovered a fraction of the map, although i think with fallout 3 online would spoil it but there would a way to make it fun.

Tried Fallout 3, just not my kind of game (way too big for my taste, and to long as well). The Total War games now, those have yet to disappoint me. Just the fact alone that you can see thousands of troops on the map, let alone commanding them, is just awesome. Though a newer series would be Mass Effect. I normally stay clear of RPGs, but this one is actually awesome, with at least one more in the series on the way. Saints Row 2, though a bit repetitive (except for the boss levels), is quite good as well.
"Eh, whatever."

I was blown away by Super Mario Galaxy. Then you've got classics like Ocarina, Paper Mario, and Mario 64. And don't forget Tetris and Super Mario Bros.

Nintendo fan here, can you tell?

Sonic, the original. Way back when, just started high school, kicking ass on my mega drive.

Tenchu 2, FF8, Double Dragon, Golden Axe, there are others..

By today's standards some of them might be considered crappy, but when I played them, at that time, they were the most awesome. Most greatest of games.

Total war series (especially medieval II) for strategy-There is no set of games I can think of that have been better mastered in their production.

For shooters, Halo and the Call of Duty series have to take it, suprised no-one has mentioned them yet.

Oh yes, just started playing fable-I think that has to be up there as well.

Super Mario Bros. 3 for me. You can't do 2D Platforming much better than they did with that one (although Megaman 2 will always have a place in my heart), and the upgrade from the first 2 is enormous.

i was still a kid back in the 90s, so i never played too much ps1. however, it seems ff7 seems to be one of the best from back then...

I loved the second sonic. I was in grade 1 or 2 at the time... Good stuff.

Best game ever? Portal, I completely fell in love with it.

FFVII was incredible. It's definitely another candidate.

Fallout 3's pretty good, had some issues, but pretty good... Halo's? f*ck no. Definitely not the best, there's way better games out there. I mean, they're good, but not the best.

Tough question. The only game that stands out for me is Worms Armageddon on the PS1.

Pure, mindless, explosive fun. What a game should be about.
